I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!
How about introductions and a little info about each person?
I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!
Seriously, everyone needs to relax. Faculty have to take a break also. Yes, all faculty were on break for about 2 weeks and did not return until Wed, May 20. The only ones who go through the applications are the faculty, so everyone has been worrying about nothing. The letters I was told were going out in the mail on Tuesday for Indy. All this assuming only stirs up nervousness amongst everyone.
That may be true but I know it makes me feel better to vent and poke fun of my neurotic behavior with others in the same boat! :)

A. Men. Sistah. I don't know what I'd do without this board. For me, this board has been a source of immense support and knowledge since I started this journey a year ago. My family is very supportive but there is really nothing that compares to being able to talk to fellow students who are feeling exactly the same thing I'm feeling. I find everyone's worrying and OCD-ish behavior comforting-- it normalizes the process for me! I get on here every day and instead of feeling more nervous and anxious, I feel a little calmer knowing that we are all in it together. To each their own, but I personally am ever so thankful for all of your support. I love worrying together and celebrating together. Thanks to all of you who have helped brighten this experience, and I look forward to meeting many of you very soon! Fingers crossed :)
I just called the indy campus to check when they are mailing and the lady that answered said that they have been on break the last two weeks and wouldn't be back until next Tuesday! She said that she didn't know if they worked on the letters or even looked through the applicants while they are break! What does that mean!! Surely it takes longer that three days to go through the applicants make out the letters, and mail them!!! I'm going to be sick!!!
Hey teboz,
Did you talk to someone in the NS office or just the person who answers the phone when you call Indy campus in general?
Okay..so I have lingered here for weeks chewing off my nails and screaming at my hubby :argue: ....oopsie....I have finally realized that they have to get som kind of sick enjoyment out of this torture..at this point I am thinking I would rather be water tortured... AND I got a job offer for a great job..BUT..now idk if I should take it because I will not be able to do their hours w/clinicals..IF I get in...IF I don't it is okay I will just be in a catatonic state and have to be commited. Anyways...it just feels better venting..let me know when you get your letters and i wil ldo the same no matter what the outcome :barf01:
Hi davilynlovesdaniel,
Welcome to AN.com! Sounds like you fit right in :) Congraulations on your job offer!
If it helps, I am not so sure that they were on vacation for the entire two weeks, They were "off" until the 20th, which I found out in my panic to get my final transcript to the Indy office by the 18th (which I found out via email from AK that they would look up my scores and I did not need to turn in my transcript after all) She emailed me on the 18th and when I was in their offices attempting to drop off my transcript the week before, the door was locked, but I swear they were in there, the lights were on and they didn't have the shade pulled down on the office door. Maybe, just maybe, they were trying to work uninterrupted...maybe????So hears to a few more days of stalking our postal workers...and don't forget, Monday's a holiday...no mail that day!!
This scene just played out in my head of all of us crouching around the door with various spy-tech devices, attempting to figure out what they are doing in the mysterious office of nursing life or death :) Ah well, we have to be entertained somehow, yes?

Right on -- I agree 100% guess what the mailman should be here in approximately 3 1/2 hrs!! Never been so excited to see that white little truck pass by:yeah:

I knew I should have bought my son that spy gear he's been asking for for his birthday....I thought $60 was ridiculous for nightvision glasses...hum, maybe I should reconsider!! :wink2:
