thanks for posting. i think it's a good sign that PI has a cut off date of Aug 02. maybe we can be hopeful that that cut off date will be advanced significantly by October.

Sorry but I can not see it moving 5 years in 2 months. No good predicting what we hope to happen but will just have to wait and see

I agree with silverdragon PD 2002 last time it took over 6 months to move. Trying to stay posative but very hard. Think it is time to book a vacation to US and get my AZ fix:D

What I don't understand is why the "All Chargeability areas" are retrogressed to 2002. It is supposed to be from my understanding a certain quoto of visas per country and I don't think that rest of world gets the number of visas issued as other countries do. Doesn't make sense why we are so horribly retrogressed...now five years and after all these new applications get processed who knows?

What they are saying is that there are more applicants than visas available at this time. September is still under the old fiscal year that will be completed. The new fiscal year does not start until October, that is why everything is back so far at this time. There are no visas at this time, that is what they are trying to tell you. And if a nurse and you have a PD date from that long ago, there were definitely issues with your file.
And when the new visas are made available in October, we still do not know how they will be distributed. For some countries, it will be smooth sailing, for others they are going to be under the retrogression for some time.
Due to the number of people that wish for the green card, expect to see the retrogression to remain definitely for those from the PIC countries as well as Mexico, what we were expecting last year in Ocober. There are only a limited number per year for each country, and the number of applicants from there far, far exceeds the number that is available in a full year.
oh! i agree with you.. what i am hoping to see is not 5 yrs, but at least uhmm..?? 3 yrs & 2 months? :monkeydance: ha ha.. pd date is oct 05.
those cut off dates are beyond our control. let's just wait and keep praying.. thanks & God bless..

Yes the boat is not in our control and many of us from all over the world stuck waiting. This is why I get so upset when people on here ask about AOS and tourist visas when there are many of us waiting and the waiting just gets longer because others think it is ok for them to jump the queue
Still confused that in May 2007 the VB stated those with PD dates before June 2005 were current then basically a month later all PD dates were current this seemed to little time to properly ascertain how many applicants they were dealing with from the first jump, maybe its soar grapes as i was within the 1st dates and still am stuck in the UK while others with PD dates much later than mine got their visa's.
Lets all keep our fingers crossed that this Septembers VB begins to advance at regular intervals, and i agree with silverdragon it that it upsets me when people go on about AOS etc it is grossly unfair.

they have set the PD to 2002 for Philippines and it is better than unavailable. It means that they will still process application before that cut-off date. I don't know where they get the visa that they will use in processing those applications, maybe the the ones that are being returned. Don't get too upset, instead we should be thankful that some will finally realize their american dream after waiting for 5 years.I am still hoping that in the coming months we can see a more acceptable date maybe 2005 or early 2006. At least they can clear some in 2002 and those are probably with problems in their applications, dont be sad, cheer up for them and shame on those who did not follow the proper way and jump on the queu.
