Villanova BSN Express Spring 2015

Hi, my name is Mike. I'm opening this thread to connect with other people who are applying or have been accepted to the BSNExpress program at Villanova for Spring 2015. Feel free to share any thoughts and suggestions you might have and to ask questions. Hopefully this forum can serve as a way for us to get to know each other a bit prior to the start of the program.

Yeaaa the finances will be an interesting situation!

I'm currently in Philly in the Manayunk/Roxborough section so I would commute...however I would need a car or I will spend an unnecessary amount of time using public transit, especially getting to the clinical sites in the area. I've been trying to get one for a while so getting in would be the perfect excuse to buy one! :yes: Ahhh so much riding on this acceptance LOL

Yes I'll be commuting - I live in the Montgomeryville area so the drive shouldn't be too bad.

Where are you moving from? I believe during my interview they do have housing on campus/around campus for those needing it so it could definitely be an option for you if you wanted to be as close to school as possible.

RNLOVE I would be moving from Michigan. I tried to look into housing before and they didn't have it for the BSNExpress program or that may have been another school…..lol. I will be officially applying tonight since my degree posted to my transcript. I will definitely need housing suggestions if I do get accepted! AHhhhh this is so nerve racking now that I am about to apply.

Warriortac - if you don't get on campus housing, there is definitely surrounding towns that are good options for you that are pretty close to campus.

Some suggestions are in Villanova right around campus, Wayne, conshohocken (prob 15 min drive to campus - it's a young professionals up and coming town with great bars/restaurants and social scene)

RNLOVE thank you for the suggestions. I did read on their website that on campus housing isn't allowed for Second Degree students.....sooo I am guessing I will have to find somehwere lol. I looked today and they have received everything of mine. Now I wait and hope to get an interview.

If anyone else on here got an interview, how long was it until you heard from them when you submitted all the required documents? Do they email or call?

Warriortac- good luck with your app! In regards to housing, check some of the previous Villanova threads, I think a few people mentioned different options.

I think most people got an email telling them to schedule an interview. I'm not sure how long it took for them to contact me, maybe about a month or so?

Hi everyone!!!

I have also applied for Villanova about two weeks ago, but I have not heard back from them. My transcripts from my undergrad and community college that I have taken some prerequisites at are not received yet, according to the status of my application. I hope it didn't get messed up. That would be terrifying knowing that the application deadline is approaching. Y'all applied so early! Good for you, I did not know that it was a rolling admission until I applied.

I'm from the Northern Virginia area, so I will be moving to PA if I do get in.. I hope we all have good news and meet one day!

arsla27 i would email them and see if they received your transcripts! i've done that with other schools and they have had them and just didn't update the application yet. i'm sure you will be fine!

also it took them a little over a month to contact me after i applied but i'm sure it wont be that long for you since you applied closer to the deadline

I will do that, thank you teelopez. My friend said she applied in late September and got in by late October/early November last year, and she just graduated from Villanova ABSN this August.. so I hope they contact all of us soon!

Hi arsla27! Yes I called Kristen the receptionist for the program a few times - she's very helpful and can give you peace of mind if they've received it yet. She said the portal isn't always updated instantly so now worries! Good luck!! :)
