  1. Sweetem I took nutrition last spring at bucks county community college online. I took the shortened online class - it was only 6 or 7 weeks long which was nice to just get it over with. They have one in the spring january to March if you're considering another school to take it at!
  2. Came in a regular envelope. What school in Florida? May consider it if out of state isn't too high.
  3. I'm not. I went to lasalle undergrad.
  4. Lisa I took nutrition online thru bucks county community college last spring and I did the shortened accelerated course meaning it started in March and went until May (instead of starting In Jan) - busy work definitely but was an easy A. I'm out of county and it cost me $900. Where are you taking Patho?
  5. Fingers crossed for you warriortac!! Emh0288 - good luck to you too!
  6. Yes all online. I live about 40 min from Villanova so nowhere near any of those colleges I mentioned. I'm also considering rio salado.
  7. I'm looking into Santa Barbara community college, Harrisburg area communist college, brookdale community college - they are under $800/$900 - being out of state or out of county this is the cheapest I have found so far
  8. Warriortac it's Delaware county community college. It's so cheap for in county residents! I'm in Montgomery county so it would be about $200/credit.
  9. Hey @italopdx! I had a face to face but the only questions I got asked were to tell a little about myself and why nursing (I'm changing from an accounting career). My interviewer mainly talked, telling me all about the program and answering any questions I had. Very informal, made me feel really comfortable. You'll do great! Good luck!
  10. I've been looking into: Santa Barbara community college, Harrisburg area community college, rio salado and brook dale community college. All under $900
  11. Hey! So I got my acceptance oct 4th and had until nov 7th to send in my deposit (along with a picture of myself). One of the students mentioned that if you need a little more time to pay the deposit they are totally understanding, just talk to them :) I agree with what everyone has been saying about the program. I got the vaccination email - I went on tues to have my blood drawn to check to see what I'm still immune to from the list, calling the dr next week for results and they said anything not immune to they will give me a booster. Also - anyone take pathophysiology yet? That's my last class I'll need in the spring, nova offers 2 sections (1 face to face and 1 online) for income BSN expressers. It's really expensive though, so I'm going to look to online thru community college, however none of the ones around here offer it. Nova sends a list of many diff online options from schools all over the US but wanted to ask you which you've taken or plan to take and why Thanks! :)
  12. Hi Everyone! I went to the open house last night - learned a ton of information that I think may be helpful to everyone. Tuition for the May 2015 cohort is $42,000 this year and they said to plan another $2000 for books, uniforms, etc. They get about 200 applicants for about 80ish seats. The open house had a final portion where 6 of the current students came and talked with us answering any and all questions we could think of. It was nice to get a student perspective rather than the admin perspective. They said that their starting class was 88 and after the summer about 4 or 5 left the program due to whatever personal reasons. Expect to be in class/clinical during the summer Mon thru Fri and then Mon thru Thurs during fall/spring. Lab is 10 students to 1 professor. Clinicals are 6-8 students to 1 instructor. They have been in many different hospitals so far for clinical - Presbyterian, Pennsylvania, HUP, Paoli, Abington, Doylestown, etc. The labs are all state of the art and very good. The dummies they have breathe, blink, talk and the infant lips turn blue, they also have a mother that gives birth, too! They hire actors to come in and simulate worried parents during pediatrics or to simulate a sick patient or even to play a psych patient. Sounds really incredible. That's all I can think of at the moment but hope this helps! :) it sounds like a wonderful program and that the faculty really care about their students succeeding.
  13. Hey KAB! Congrats and good luck on your interview! I'm sure being asked to interview is as good a sign as any to potentially getting in :) Anyone going to the open house on Tuesday night?
  14. Hi Laura! Glad to hear your interview went well! Who knows maybe you'll make the cutoff for the October meeting and hear by November! Thanks for clarifying about the standard testing and deposit! Keep us posted!
  15. I interviewed in August and they said they would be having the next meeting in sept and I just found out this week. You will prob be discussed in the November meeting and then hear back 1st wk dec?
