Villanova BSN Express Spring 2015

Published

Hi, my name is Mike. I'm opening this thread to connect with other people who are applying or have been accepted to the BSNExpress program at Villanova for Spring 2015. Feel free to share any thoughts and suggestions you might have and to ask questions. Hopefully this forum can serve as a way for us to get to know each other a bit prior to the start of the program.

nitnotmul, congrats!

That's crazy. You must be a super awesome candidate! Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Hahaha warriortac. I'm just a regular student who's seeking a better future.

By the way, I just want to know usually how the process is supposed to work, from sending unofficial transcript to receiving acceptance letter. Could anybody explain it please? Thank you.

hi! i would go onto your online application and where it says "interview" see if it says that an interview was requested. i don't think they usually call people for an interview before they pay the application fee, but i don't doubt that you got an interview either!

my personal experience - i sent my transcripts, applied, waited a little over a month, was asked to schedule an interview, scheduled and had my interview, and acceptance came a little over a month later. definitely keep in touch with the person you interview with during the process as it helps them see you are interested

Warriortac I had Professor E. and she was very nice!

I was contacted for an interview even though I did not "officially" submit my app. I posted this a few weeks ago, that I applied to the alternate sequence at the beginning of this year and did not get in since I was confused about the classes I had to take. In June I began the application for this program and resent my transcripts, but did not submit because I wanted to reread my essay. I was also finishing up a summer class. Around the time I finished and was going back to my app I got the email for the interview. I think they used my old application with my updated transcripts. I suppose I'll see if they say anything about the application fee LOL

Thanks for the info Teelopez. I just got the interview scheduled. It will be on October 6th.

I don't really understand how it happened, but I'm so grateful to be invited so fast. Just have to prepare myself for the interview, does anybody have advice on it? Thank you...

thats awesome! congrats! i can't say much because i had my interview with maryanne lieb, but it was basically her giving me information about the program. very conversational but i would prepare some answers for basic interview questions, like tell me about yourself, why nova, why nursing, etc. she only asked me one interview question but i was on a time crunch!

Thank you teelopez.

Sweetem, since you had your interview with Professor E., you may have mentioned this before, how was it? Did she ask a lot of questions?

To those who didn't have to pay the app fee, NICE! lol It was one of the steeper ones.

In regards to the process. I submitted unofficial transcripts to Kristin in August. On Sept. 8th or so I applied and had my transcripts emailed over. I had everything submitted when I applied. I got an email on the 23rd requesting an interview and that is one Sept. 30th!

Warriortac From what I remember, she only asked me about myself and a few questions on my classes. Everything else was talking about the program and small talk, like current events. Like teelopez said I think if you prepare for basic interview questions and can carry a conversation you'll do fine!

Good luck to everyone interviewing!! I received my acceptance letter yesterday. Very exciting!! I had my interview the second week of August, so it took a little over a month to hear a decision. The online portal will update to say a decision has been made and has been sent. Expect a snail mail letter :)

My interview was with Dr. G.S. She was extremely nice and friendly, so don't be nervous! Like everyone else has said, it's mostly a conversation. The only questions she really asked were why I decided to switch careers (since engineering to nursing is a big decision) and how I've prepared myself in terms of taking prerequisites, etc. If you're an alum, even better!

For those who have been accepted - has anyone started a Facebook group yet?

Good luck to everyone else still applying!!
