Villanova BSN Express Spring 2015

Hi, my name is Mike. I'm opening this thread to connect with other people who are applying or have been accepted to the BSNExpress program at Villanova for Spring 2015. Feel free to share any thoughts and suggestions you might have and to ask questions. Hopefully this forum can serve as a way for us to get to know each other a bit prior to the start of the program.

Hi everyone! I intend on applying within the next few weeks! This is one of my number one choices for school. Do all of you live in PA? Also, are your interviews in person or by telephone? I reside in Michigan, so I would have to travel there…..which I have no problem with! Also, what do some of you have your Bachelors in? Just curious!

Also, I am currently enrolled to take one of my religion courses and I still need one after that. Stats I will take next semester and Patho if I am accepted!

I live in PA - my interview is in person but maybe they would do over the phone or a skype interview if coming in person wasn't doable for you?

I have a BS in accounting - total career change! I graduated in 2009.

I've been waiting for this thread! I have an interview as well but my person is on vacation so I'm waiting to schedule one. I was planning on applying to Jefferson and Penn but I won't if I hear back from Villanova early enough. It really seems like a great program. My husband who worked at CHOP said that people gushed about Villanova nurses.

My BA is in health and society (aka public health) and I'll be starting my two religion courses and developmental psych on Monday.

Awesome! I have a Bachelors in Anthropology. I am more than willing to do an in-person interview; Even if I am out of state I think it is better for them to meet me in person, and for me to see the school and meet them. After you all applied how long did it take for you to hear about an interview? Do they interview everyone?

Hey warriortac, I'm not sure how many they tend to interview or the number who apply. I can't really say how long it took them to contact me after applying because I haven't submitted my app yet! Sooo what happened was that I applied to the alternate sequence program last year and didn't get in because I was mistaken about the classes I had to take. I resent my transcripts around June and started filling out another app then decide to put it on hold until I finished my summer class. Just around the time I finished they sent the email for the interview! I'm guessing they used my application from last year.

Also to the OP, I think moving this thread to the PA section will get more responses.

Yes you attach your resume and an essay (why do want to do the program). Other than that the application takes like 10 mins tops. It's very simple!

i just had my interview today! it was very relaxed and maryanne is so nice. she only really asked me one "interview" question and mostly talked about the program and asked if i had questions. i think it went really well. p.s they accept 120-130 and class sizes are around 80 :) good luck!

Hello everyone - I was so excited to find this thread! I am in the final steps of submitting my application, I am working on finishing my essay.

Villanova is also my #1 choice, as most of you have said the other local school's BSN baccalaureate programs cannot compete! I am so nervous about getting in since this is the only school I have really clicked with.

I have completed A&P 1&2, Chem 1, Nutrition and Intro to Psych. This semester I am taking Chem 2, Developmental Psych and Religion 101. Next semester I still have to take Statistics, Patho and another Religion course.

For those who have already completed the interview - did they give you any insight on when the earliest you would be notified of acceptance?

Hello teelopez! In your interview did they mention what they are looking for in a candidate for the program? Also, did they ask you questions such as why you would be a good fit for the school/program or why you want to go to Villanova? Any insight would be great - thanks!
