Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014

Published

Hey everyone! I couldn't find this thread anywhere so figured that I would start one for all of us who applied to Vanderbilt's Pre-Specialty Entry program (for non-RNs) this fall. I applied for the PMHNP specialty. What about you?! :)

Did you end up retaking the GRE or submitted your initial scores? (I saw an earlier post with your stats) I only ask because my GRE score is in the same range and have not gotten my decision from Vandy yet. I am an FNP pre-specialty applicant.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the question is directed to aritakum

Hello everyone! I'm glad you guys are here lol...I'm still waiting to hear back from vandy. I applied to the AGPCNP program. I called admissions today, they looked me up, and my decision is still pending. Better than a No, but I'm going crazy waiting to hear back. Good luck to everyone and congratulations to those who have already gotten in!

Lol yeah what is this pending?? Shouldn't they know by now? I hope it's a problem with the system not an early sign for no?

I applied l to AGPCNP as well. I glad to know something..Thanks for calling them . Are you Direct Entry?

Sorry, I forgot to mention the question is directed to aritakum

I did retake the GRE: 169V, 170Q, 5.5

Wishing you the best

Very nice scores! Glad you took my advice about retaking the test. I'll be seeing you this August it seems! I got in for psych too :) Add me on FB if you want to chat (link is in my profile)

Ugh. I called admissions and they were RUDE!! Would not look anything up for me just said the letters haven't gone out yet. Glad those of you who called weren't shot down the way I was. Strike one Vandy....guess I will wait for my letter, but I am totally turned off.[/quote']

Please don't let this turn you off from Vanderbilt. Most staff members and instructors are very warm and friendly. At the admissions office it all depends on who answers the phone, unfortunately. Again, rude behavior is not the norm at this school, truly.

Reading all of the posts is making my stomach hurt! I can clearly remember feeling like my head was going to explode if I didn't have an answer one way or the other. Congrats to all of you who got in already and GOOD LUCK to all those still waiting in agony. :)

Apparently, "pending" means the decision is still being made. She said they should have them by Monday :/ I'm doing the Pre-Specialty entry. I think the direct-entry route is for people who have their BSN already. I could be wrong though.

Hi all, I've been following the thread for a while and, after biting my nails to stubs, figured it was time to join the community! Are there any AG acute care applicants out there? I'm hoping we didn't have an interview since I didn't get one... Also, have any of you AGAC received an acceptance yet? Or are we getting notified later, like some of the others? (I hope so, because I haven't heard a thing!) To everyone else, thanks for all the info and congratulations to those who have been accepted!

I am an acute care direct entry applicant (I.e. I have my BSN). I called yesterday (or should I say my husband called because I was too freaked out) and they had not made decisions yet but hoped to have them made by the end of the week. This has been the longest wait of my life!! Good luck and or congrats to everyone!!!
