Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014

Hey everyone! I couldn't find this thread anywhere so figured that I would start one for all of us who applied to Vanderbilt's Pre-Specialty Entry program (for non-RNs) this fall. I applied for the PMHNP specialty. What about you?! :)

My mail already came today and there was no letter. I applied for peds primary care. Waiting is rough!

Letters are being sent out today via snail mail, so be looking for em to arrive sat or Monday. Admissions office said to call tomorrow and they most likely will have an answer.

pmg1990, thank you! You too! I got into UAB's program but turned them down because Vandy is my top choice. Did you apply anywhere else?

I applied to MGH (wait listed) and a few Accelerated BSN programs.

I just got an email that a status update has been posted for me on my online application, and the update linked to my acceptance letter! I already knew my status, but for those of you still waiting to find out, keep checking your email to find out when your application status has changed. Good luck, potential Vandy classmates!

After reading on here that many people had called and been given their admission decision over the phone, I called today. I was accepted for PMHNP! The person who answered the phone was extremely friendly. I expressed my gratitude to her, and she told me she was happy that I called. She said they will be sending letters out, but that there will be a delay. (I didn't ask how long, because I honestly just wanted to know if I got in.) I'd encourage anyone anxious to find out to go ahead and call. The lady in admissions seemed more than happy to help.

Thanks for sharing this info. I'm curious if they mentioned anything about scholarships in your acceptance letter?

Has anyone called in and spoken to admissions today? I saw that someone yesterday posted that it could be the weekend or Monday before we hear. I am going out of town tomorrow so I would really love to know if I will have an answer before I get back later next week! Do we know if letters are going out today? Or if they will update our status online when they send out the letters? Will they email to let us know that we can check online?! I'm too much of a chicken to call admissions myself! :)

I had to have my husband call...and I thought I was going to puke the entire time!!! I'm with ya!!
