Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014

Published

Hey everyone! I couldn't find this thread anywhere so figured that I would start one for all of us who applied to Vanderbilt's Pre-Specialty Entry program (for non-RNs) this fall. I applied for the PMHNP specialty. What about you?! :)

I got accepted into PMHNP :)))

If it helps- I called the admissions department and asked. I haven't received an email. The woman I spoke with said I should expect an acceptance letter probably next week.

Has anyone direct entry heard anything? I just got off the phone with admissions and she told me they hadn't worked their way through direct entry (FNP, at least) and are still

getying pre- specialty done. My status over the ohone was "awaiting decision" and online is still just "submitted".

would love to know what ither direct entry folks are hearing.

I'm direct entry AG-ACNP and have heard nothing yet. Called earlier in the week and they didn't know yet.

I called, and found out I was accepted into the AG-PCNP pre-specialty on Tuesday the 25th. No letter and no change in my online status as of yet. My undergrad GPA was 3.5, and my GRE scores were 169/152/4.5 Verbal/Quant/Writing.

hey everyone - i haven't been on this thread, but i applied to Vanderbilt for FNP pre-specialty and have been following your guys post. ya'll made me so antsy that i ended up biting the bullet and called just now. she said there is still no decision on my application yet and that i should call back next week. this is killing me. i've been accepted to columbia and a lot of things are due for them within the next month that i don't want to put off until last minute waiting for Vanderbilt's decision. so stressful!

Hi All! Congratulations to all who have been accepted!! I have been wait listed to UMass and MGH -- I applied NMW/FNP pre-specialty to Vanderbilt and had an interview mid Jan. I have heard nothing. It seems like people have heard from the NMW portion by phone if accepted...anyone else in my boat?? I am trying to decide if I am going to call or not -- I am surprised my hair isn't white by now!

Just called because I could not handle the suspense anymore. The woman on the phone told me the admissions people were in a meeting getting ready for the open house this weekend, and if I want to call back in an hour (around 12pm EST) or on Monday she could forward me to one of them to see if there was any update on my application status. I applied AGPC-NP pre specialty. THIS WAIT IS AGONIZING!! :arghh:

I got the same response as nkw05 when I called this morning. The lady was really nice about it though. I think I'm just going to call back on Monday. I have to send the deposit to another school but oh well =/

@JNEM, I guess they're way more behind that she let on to me. I'm guessing it's taking them longer to print out our acceptance letters, but when they print them they should update it on our status online at the same time. If it makes you feel any better, I still have seen a change on my online status yet. I'm guessing now their time is consumed with getting open house ready. Boo :(

Yes, agree she was very nice and did not deter me from calling back today to check again. Now I just have to work up the courage again to call back again today. If not, then Monday for sure!

Hi everyone! I've been following this thread for awhile and it was the only thing keeping me sane during this horrible wait. I just found out via status update that I've been accepted into the NMW program! Also, I did NOT receive a phone call saying I had been accepted, so don't lose hope just yet!

Yesterday, I got an email saying my status had changed and I have been accepted to peds pre specialty!

Congrats to everyone being accepted! Much excitement.
