Vanderbilt Nurse Residency 2015

Published

The application for the Vanderbilt nurse residency for February 2015 will open in August. Who all is applying? Does anyone have advice for those of us who will be applying?

I know CVICU interviewed 15 and the Burn ICU interviewed 10... And I think Peds ER interviewed 15. Not sure about any other group though!

Oh wow, that doesn't seem like very many! Hopefully it's around the same for the other units too! :) I guess I just assumed there were much more because it stretched out over a month, but I guess that makes sense since there are so many units.

i'm pretty sure 16 interviewed for trauma icu! could be wrong tho!

Well, I'm done. I can't stand it anymore. You lost me Vandy. Good luck everyone else.

I can't believe I just found this! I interviewed for the Medicine/Progressive/Surgery track on the very first day of interviews, so I've been in limbo forever! I just graduated in July and I've been working a job that isn't nursing holding out for VB. Hopefully they don't make us wait much longer!

By the way, I read that Vanderbilt actually sent people to recruit RNs in Cincinnati recently. So that being said, I'm hoping there are lots of open positions for us!

The applicants in '12 found out around the 16th and 17th. Maybe we will hear around this time as well. Maybe, lol.

It has taken me a good deal of restraint to not submit a joke post saying, "OMG guys did you get the email?!?!? They are sending out the offers!!!" LOL, but that would be so mean. Everybody hangin' in there?

Omg haha! I'm so excited to hear!

Ps--there's a residency program in ohio that just starts their interview process next week so things could always be worse :)

That would be awesome if that happened! It would make my life so much easier to know either way!

I've had a few interviews for other residency programs that I feel went well and should hear back this next week so I'm going to be obsessively checking my email for a response from vandy since I'd 100% rather work there than anywhere else! But how can I turn down a job, and then get a no from vandy? Hoping these other places take longer than they said and vandy takes shorter ?
