  1. localgirl85, another reason I did FNP vs. PNP is the availability of programs! Easier to find (especially online programs) for FNP. I prefer in person, but was not able to leave my current hospital at the time...
  2. localgirl85 Sorry I am just responding! I obviously did not check this a lot after I posted. I chose BSN-DNP primarily because I knew I wanted to eventually teach at the collegiate level and I need a doctorate for that... I also knew I did not want to apply to graduate school twice, it's annoying enough as is... I chose FNP v. PNP because I also did not want to limit myself, but I also know I could specialize afterwards if I wanted to and work primarily in pediatrics. So far, I have enjoyed the program, I have no life as I am doing school full-time and working full-time (don't recommend...), but I am excited that I has started my journey to becoming an NP!
  3. I have applied to this program and have an interview this month! Trying to figure out if I would move to Chicago if I got in or attempt to do it out of state. Anyone else have an interview, been accepted, or currently doing this program? Any comments and advice would be helpful!
  4. I have applied and got accepted into GWU's Fall 2017 cohort for BSN-DNP. Anyone else get accepted? I have an interview with another school before I accept. Has anyone heard anything about GWU? Positive or Negative? Can't find many articles online about the actual BSN-DNP program. Let me know!
  5. @kaciep I was invited to interview for the same program. Have you interviewed yet? Heard from anyone else that's interviewing? I've only seen a few other threads. I also applied for George Washington University and University of South Alabama.
  6. Hey Guys, I want to go back to school to get my MSN/MBA dual degree (online) and I'm trying to figure out what area would be best for me to work in... Due to family circumstances, I am leaving my current job in a Cardiac ICU to move closer to home. I did not enjoy 12 hour shifts, but I absolutely hated nights. I'm having to find a job and want to use this opportunity to work in a different area. I think I would like a clinic setting better, but the hours are M-F 9-5. I think I would do better with that consistency, but I also don't want to miss out on opportunities a hospital might present to me after I finish my degree(s). But is it worth it to work in a hospital when I know I don't like it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  7. Ditto! At least I'm still in the running! It's hard not to get my hopes up...
  8. I know CVICU interviewed 15 and the Burn ICU interviewed 10... And I think Peds ER interviewed 15. Not sure about any other group though!
  9. Yeah, I told them I wanted to do a Masters program later on as well... And thank you again itrust!! That is something I'm really considering in regards to hospitals because I know I won't be happy at a place just because I might make more money, for me, I really need to be at a place I enjoy working.
  10. I think it went well, there were a few of those behavioral questions where I wasn't sure I had a good example, but they were really nice and made me comfortable... And you have a good point!! I hope it's sooner, I'm still applying elsewhere, but this is what I really want. I know only 15 people are actually being interviewed for the CVICU, but they didn't really say how many. I asked at the end what's one of the biggest barriers for the CVICU and they responded the turnover rate (because some of the nurses are there for 2-3 years before going back to school), which they said was good, but it can also be a little hard. This gives me hopes that they'll have a couple spots!
  11. Hey Guys! I just found this feed. I actually had an interview on October 8 for the CVICU as well @CraigSoon2BeBSN_RN! I was at 9am. Does anyone know how many people they accept into each program? I'm just waiting now until I guess the first week of December to hear back? Does anyone have different information?
