Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2019. Anyone else applying/re-applying too? Please comment!

They are really funny about switching your specialty. Usually, unless you are prespecialty, they tell you to reapply.
If you are accepted into PNP-PC, then you most likely tailored your goal statement for that role. So I am wondering what you mean by "meant to apply to acute care." Perhaps you figured out afterwards that you preferred acute?

Long-time lurker (though I did post once or twice). I was accepted but decided to decline my offer. So for those of you on the waitlist there's an additional spot that opened up (if anybody here was doing the post-master's cert).
Good luck and cheers!
Hey,
For your postmasters how many courses did they state you needed to bridge the gap from your previous MSN? What specialty? Why did you decide not to accept Vanderbilt?

They didn’t say anything in particular since I completed an FNP program so all of the core NP and Pediatric and Adult/Gero coursework had been completed.
Ultimately it came down to it being about twice as expensive as the program I chose which was just as highly of not more highly ranked. Length of program is longer for Vandy. And clinical starts earlier which is more difficult for my work. Basically cost and logistics were the main reasons.
Otherwise I’ve heard nothing but great things about Vandy!

Sent you a PM.

Thanks!
From what i have gathered is that the FNP program takes the most candidates. However, they also get much more candidates because you can specialize in more areas. So that being said, i think you have just as much chance getting into either program.
