Vanderbilt MSN 2019

Published

Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2019. Anyone else applying/re-applying too? Please comment!

Hi! I saw your past posts and noticed that you are reapplying. Do you happen to know if a letter of rec is required from an academic source? I will try to call admissions tomorrow, but I'm wondering if it's an obvious requirement that I missed.

Hello! An academic recommendation is not required. Per VUSN website: References should be from faculty members, professional colleagues, or work supervisors who can evaluate your potential for success in a graduate program.

Hi guys! I am applying for the 2019 pre-specialty CNM/FNP program and am anxiously waiting for the app to open. Did you notice that they don't require the GRE this year? (Graduate Record Exam (GRE) | MSN Admissions | Admissions | School of Nursing | Vanderbilt University) One less thing to worry about I guess

Thank you! I finally found out that if you've been in school within the last 5 years, you'd have to supply at least one academic recommendation.

Hi ktpineapple,

Yes, I am aware. I am anxiously waiting for the app to open as well! Good luck ?

Hello all!! I am applying this year for the prespecialty AGACNP! So grateful the GRE is no longer needed- one less thing to worry about. Has anyone started working on the questions yet? I applied to the FNP program last year and along with getting rid of the GRE I like the idea of the directed questions better than the general statement of purpose. Anyone going to the Open House this year?

So, you applied for the VUSN FNP program last year? I applied and was wait listed last/this year. I have been in communication with admissions since being told there was no movement on the wait list and that I needed to reapply. In addition to getting rid of the GRE, I was told the application has changed. I'm not sure if the questions are going to be the same. Oh...I'm going to the Open House!

Hello! I am going to be applying for PMHNP MSN pre-specialty this cycle! I am a senior in undergraduate with a major in Psychology/Neuroscience and I am also anxiously waiting for the app to open. So nervous! This is my number 1 choice.

Hi all,

I thought I would provide an update. Today, I called the admissions department to ask a question about the application. I was told they are currently in the process of updating the application and that it may or may not be open on the 15th. I was told to pay attention to the VUSN website.

Fingers cross it will open on the 15th!

Is anyone else having trouble picking the "start term?" 2019 isn't popping up on the drop-down list.

Same here. It sounds like from a previous post they are in the process of updating the application and that it might not go live on the 15th. The only problem is that I don't see on their website when it might be updated and good to go. I plan on periodically logging in to see if the drop-down updates to 2019 inside the application.
