  1. I’m curious which dual degree program are you looking at?
  2. I’m also very disappointed in how the school has handled this with a lack of communication and inconsistent messaging. Transparency to all applicants with a simple automated email explaining the delay would have preserved my trust in their processes. Admissions is the first impression with prospective students and this has been a strong one for me. Aside from what feels like a breakdown in communication, almost every single program that is comparable to Vandy or that students are likely to apply to have released decisions. Few programs allow extensions for deposits and even fewer applicants are in a position to pay and lose a large deposit for a second choice school once Vandy does release decisions. It will ultimately hurt Vandy the most— they will lose qualified candidates and strong students to other programs. I’d expect to see far more movement on their waitlists this year from accepted students declining due to other offers and Vandy’s late timeline! All in all, I don’t place blame for the “glitch”— I’m sure they are just as frustrated as we are. But I do take issue with how it has been handled. When the application opened late, they posted a blanket statement on their website which kept everyone informed and prevented multiple miscommunications. They handled it well. As for this, I’m still hoping Vandy lives up to its reputation and we start to have consistent messaging from its Admissions office or a blanket email to everyone with an update on the situation so applicants can make informed decisions about how to handle other offers.
  3. One of the admissions directors said at the Open House that they are giving a couple days worth of 'leeway' on letters and transcripts to arrive because the application opened later than planned. However, I would recommend reaching out to Admissions just to confirm since meeting the priority deadline is so important for having the best chances for admission. Good luck! :)
  4. I went to the Open House last year and really enjoyed it! The information sessions with admissions, financial aid, and the specialty directors were incredibly helpful. I was glad I went!
  5. Same here. It sounds like from a previous post they are in the process of updating the application and that it might not go live on the 15th. The only problem is that I don't see on their website when it might be updated and good to go. I plan on periodically logging in to see if the drop-down updates to 2019 inside the application.
