Vanderbilt MSN 2016

Published

I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.

Specializes in Rheumatology NP.
I'm right there with you! And my name begins with S also, so I'm praying they're just sending these out in alphabetical order and we'll hear today (though I hope they won't wait until 5 pm again)!

I'm thinking, why wait!? The phone calls have begun!

(My hope anyway!!)

I found out I was accepted yesterday and my last name is towards the beginning of the alphabet. I suppose it is possible!

Rejected :( Congrats everyone!

My last name also starts with an S!! Hahaha:) They must be doing something with the alphabet then!

How did you find out you were accepted? I haven't received an email and my Vanderbilt application page still says my status is submitted

To anyone who was rejected, don't give up or lose hope in your goals and dreams! My sister was rejected her first time applying to the program (for pre-specialty). She was devastated, because she really wanted to go to Vandy and become a Nurse Practitioner. We encouraged her to try again next year, so she did and was accepted her second time around! She is now an awesome PNP at a great clinic, and she loves her job. She also got her DNP last year through Vandy as well.

Congrats to everyone who was already accepted and to those who will soon find out about their acceptance! VUSN is an awesome program, and I've learned so much so far.

I was accepted for pre-specialty PMHNP, but there was no mention of a financial aid award in my letter (despite the line saying "if you indicated you'd like to be considered for aid, that award will be enclosed). I'm assuming that means I received no award, but does anyone else have a similar letter of admission? Thanks!

Can you tell us if your last name is early or late in the alphabet? We are trying to figure out if they are sending out notifications alphabetically. Hopefully I will be able to answer your question soon!

If the theory is true, I've never been so glad to have a last name that's at the very front of the alphabet :)

I'm W & heard yesterday!
