I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.
helenclark, I was also accepted to both programs. Emory is longer because you are awarded a BSN, which is not part of Vanderbilt's program. The BSN would allow you the flexibility to work as a nurse before continuing onto the MSN portion of the program. Just depends on what you are looking for in your education!
I was also accepted to both! Which are you both leaning toward? What else are you considering as you make your decision between the two?

Congratulations to you both! It's hard to say at this point! I'd love to talk outside the forum somehow but it seems I haven't written on here enough to direct message you. Are you also FNP/CNM?
I honestly don't know! I like both programs and both Atlanta/Nashville. Emory gave me more scholarship money, but the extra semester still makes Emory the more expensive option. But I like the idea of having a BSN so I can start working after my first year. Are you going to the accepted student weekend at Emory Saturday? Would love to discuss pros/cons and what you're thinking! PM me!
