Vanderbilt MSN 2016

Published

I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.

Longest week of my life!!!!

Specializes in Pediatric Critical Care.

A PVT trick for grad school admissions? ;)

Also checking my email incessantly! Each time it's a spam mail I die a bit inside. Boyfriend thinks I've gone mad.. Fingers crossed we hear back today!!

I just said the same thing. If Groupon sends me another stupid travel email I'm suing!!! Rofl!

Brael1n that is the funniest thing ever!! I just had a similar thought when a Groupon email came through my inbox. I mean, as enticing as "Tandem Skydiving lessons" may be, that's not the email I'm hoping for today :roflmao:

O I know I wish there was some sort of alert I could put on my phone specific to Vanderbilt emails. Today and the rest of the week no other email matters and the more I get them the more my sanity is tested lol.

So who's going to make the first pestering call to Admissions today?!?

Armor950, I nominate you!!! Please get as many details as possible to keep us in agonizing suspense. ☺️

Perhaps... just plan to know by Saturday (or 2/15 for that matter)....anytime earlier than Saturday will be a wonderful gift! Try meditation ? I am being entertained by your comments though. I'm not sure I'd bug them...could get very irritating to them and you wouldn't want to hurt your chances by saying something wrong.

I highly doubt they could use it to hurt your chances of getting in. BUT pestering them definitely isn't going to speed up the process. If anything, its going to make it take longer because you are pulling someone away from what they are doing with every phone call.

Think about how it is at work, when every call bell draws you away from your task of getting meds ready, and all they are asking is when you will be bringing their medication. ("as soon as you quite calling and interrupting me so I can get it done!")

Well while we're anxiously waiting, does anyone know which specialties typically get the most applications?? Good luck to everyone!!:)

FNP gets the most applications, thats what they said in the open house. ( about 300-400 apps for 80 places is what they said) I do know that the ER dual acute care/ fnp track only admits 12-16 people a year though... that seems to me like it would be ultra competitive... so not sure
