  1. I hear people say er experience counts. I’d like a link showing 1 school that counts / accepts er experience now. I heard a long time ago 1 school did. But I dont think they have for a long long time. I know of none that accepts er experience.
  2. It’s my understanding that dental anesthesiologist do the sedation AND the dental work. Unlike other specialties, that require a separate provide to do anesthesia, dentist can do sedation and dentistry at once. ( once person doing both) dental anesthesiologist are dentist that have done some anesthesia training. This has been argued as dangerous. But it’s still legal and practiced. A lot of dentist realize that is dangerous and there’s a lot of liability doing that,so they hire a crna.
  3. You can refer to yourself has nurse anesthegolosit though 🙂
  4. In some states it is a misdemeanor to use the title. Oklahoma is like that. The board of nursing doesn't like it, but the board of nursing states first you must follow all state and federal laws, and a slick mda who got elected was able to pass a law saying nurses couldn't use the title doctor. What sucks the most is they made this law only for nurses. Any other profession can use the term. Just not nurses in Oklahoma
  5. Good luck. Newman is tough to get into and the interview is intense. But if you get in- you will be a Crna. My class started with 23 and graduated 23 and almost every class is the same
  6. Random- I really love the " nurse anesthesiologist " descriptor term- I will be using it.
  7. Not sure not next year but maybe year after that? It will be soon- there prepping for it. Then it won't be a 24mth program but a 30or 36 month program
  8. ??who cares if they go out of business. Apex just supplements what we do. We would probaly just pick a different board prep. Apex is just something we use to supplement everything else. Could have just as easily been prodigy, valley or something else. Or nothing. Could have just been a text book. Lol.
  9. We use apex for our board prep. apex is pretty legit. Newman helps you alot- but you have to put the time in. no way around it. You'll use apex all the way through school, and they prepare you. but its a 24 month program- so you really have to work hard.
  10. Just graduated from Newman. Can't speak high enough regarding the program. Loved it. Newman proud. Amazing school. Amazing instructors. Your classmates will be like your family. Good luck.
  11. I am in crna school right now with graduation in 2018. I have always wanted to serve my country. Previously I was told that was not possible cause I'm blind in one eye. ( I was born like that so well compensated, you can't tell I'm blind in one eye without me telling you. I played sports, etc) will me having crna change anything? ( I know it's a long shot, but no harm in asking, right?) I didn't know if the need for crna' was great enough that I might get exceptiom

  13. I am starting CRNA school in about a week. Getting extremely nervous. ( excited to ). I have wife, kids. Taking out the loans, being away from family... All nerve wrecking. About to jump off the cliff-and into the unknown world of graduate school. Wanted to read ahead, and do a lot before class started, but everyone i talked to, including people on this forum told me to just relax and do nothing... So thats what i did. I know ill be studying like no other when it starts. Haven't been in school in 10 years... gulp. wish me luck, and any advice, feel free to comment.
  14. are the vision requirements any less strict for crna?
