Vanderbilt MSN 2016

Published

I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.

Yesterday I received a postcard invite to the Open House in March, but it was a generic invite that must have been sent to anyone and everyone who has expressed interest in the program.

Was still nice to open up the mailbox and see something from the SON though :)

That's what I assumed. My name was on a database.

I missed a call from the director of the CNM program while I was at work today. I called back and got her voicemail. What could it mean?!?

Sounds like something very promising!! Keep us posted, kmwolf :)

I also had a missed call from a Nashville number today, but no voicemail was left. After reading your post I googled the number and it was someone from the CNM program! Did they leave a message when they called you?

No message! Which I thought was kind of weird. Let me know what you find out! I'm hoping they call back tomorrow.

Haven't heard anything on my end (I'm also CNM). Makes me nervous...

Specializes in Crna.

What's your application status say on website?

Hi everyone! I'm so happy that i found this thread! I applied to the midwifery track, although i didn't get my application in until the end of November. I'm still hopeful that i'll get in though; i have wanted to do this for years! I have a good GPA (3.9) and decent GRE scores (verbal 163, quant 152, analytical writing 5) but basically no healthcare experience in the midwifery field. Do most of you who are applying to the midwifery track have experience? Thanks for the info and it is great to meet you all!

I received one in the mail also. I got really excited for a second! haha.

*an open house invitation that is.

Hi Emmanade. I also applied direct entry CNM. I have no experience in nursing or midwifery. Your stats are great! I wold say you have great chances of getting in! Mine aren't nearly as good. Still hopeful though! Good luck!
