Vanderbilt MSN 2016

Published

I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.

This sounds very promising, guys!! Let us all know as soon as you hear something :)

Hi Cherishfanakos :) That is really encouraging, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Hopefully we will be classmates!!

Did anyone ask during interview or know how we are supposed to get word of acceptance/rejection/wait-list? Will we get a phone call, email, or snail mail first?

Last year, people got all three. The call is supposed to come first, I think.

Hello,

has anyone from the PRE-SPECIALTY entry recieve any interviews? Particularly the Psych track?

holahawaii- I applied for PMHNP pre-speciality route. I was contacted the first week of December and had my phone interview the 2nd week. I haven't heard anything since the interview. She said decisions would go out Feb/March.

From what I've read on this and past threads and what I've heard from Vanderbilt directly, interviews and acceptances happen at different times, even within the same specialty. So someone could get an acceptance at some point, and another person could find out a few weeks later even within the same specialty. And it sounds like each specialty has their own timeline, too! So even though I'm sure the waiting is killing all of us and it's hard not to analyze what everything means, sounds like we just have to try to be patient till mid-February! At least Vanderbilt seems to be a little speedier than some other programs I've applied to in terms of interview dates...

I just called admissions, and the lady said that everyone will know by mid-February. I asked when will they start letting candidates know if they have been accepted and she said "all candidates in all specialties will know at the same time". That doesn't follow the last few years time line. Anyhow, good luck everyone!

Don't you know that those admissions folks are probably sick of our pestering calls and questions!! Glad we're all in this together, guys. Happy week ahead!

Does anyone know if all PMHNP candidates go through an interview? I haven't heard anything from Vanderbilt at this point so I am guessing that is not a good sign :(

I am pretty sure that all pmhnp candidates have to interview, I interviewed 12-14. I would not be concerned about not interviewing yet. Good Luck!

I haven't seen much discussion concerning the AGACNP track. I know they don't conduct interviews, so has anyone heard back on an acceptance decision already?
