Vanderbilt MSN 2016

I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.

I just had my interview this morning. I'm sure every specialty is a little different, but overall it was pretty straightforward. Understanding of the role, why you want to be an APN, why this school, and some random questions about my application, with nothing too tricky. He also confirmed that decisions would be made by mid-February.

I had my interview the 8th. There were two interviewers on the line. Definitely straightforward questions. Heard I'd find out about a decision by mid-January? I'm also CNM prespecialty.

Hmm interesting. Mid-January would be great! I think I saw on an earlier post that Admissions said by mid-Feb, but who knows...

They told me (pmhnp) that it would be mid-late February. I'm hoping that we all hear much sooner!

Yeah, I was surprised she said mid-January too! Up until then I had always heard mid-February.

Sent off my remaining prereq grades yesterday. Got all As so I hope that helps! I have never wanted something something so much before!! í ½í¸¬ Trying my best to stay positive...

Guys, not to make the waiting game more unbearable, but in years past (per the allnurses.com threads) some candidates found out about their acceptance as early as today, December 18th!!

Wouldn't it be amazing if we started finding out so soon?!?

Yes. I've looked at the earlier threads and though the same thing. Also, I noticed that some didn't find out until March. I was really hoping today we would see some acceptances on this thread! Good luck everyone!

I'm so glad someone started this thread! I have been hoping to find one online for awhile now haha! I applied direct entry to the CNM program. I'm currently traveling but look forward to reading through this thread when I get a chance. Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone remember the specifics for sending updated grades (Fall 2015 transcript)? My school just released ours today and I could try giving VUSN a call but I'm not sure about their holiday hours.. sending an electronic official transcript is my guess for what they want us to do. I just recall seeing something about sending Fall semester grades!
