I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.
HI friends, I also received an invitation for a phone interview for this Weds for PMHNP track. I noticed that the person who sent the invite out had actually sent the original message to herself last month, which is why I only received a follow-up email recently asking if I am still interested in interviewing with Vanderbilt. My take away is to reach out again and email VUSN if you haven't heard anything about an interview and were in the first cohort of apps for VUSN. Perhaps there was in error in sending you the original email as this happened to me. Good luck!!
Btw: does anyone know what kinds of questions to expect? I am interviewing for PMHNP :) Tips would be greatly appreciated!!
Hi everyone - well, I read FutureNPisMe's message and got excited, so I called VUSN admissions and asked for an update on my application status. I was also the 1st cohort of apps for VUSN, but the admissions rep gave me the blanket "notifications go out mid-February" response. Not what I wanted to hear at all, but I thought I'd pass this experience along in case any of your are getting antsy and thinking of making the same call.
I'm sorry the school's response wasn't very helpful armor950. Perhaps what was mentioned earlier is correct and some applicants/specialties don't get interviewed at all, but rather get an easy acceptance :) Would certainly be great if this is the case! Keep hanging in there in the meantime! Best of luck!!

Thanks---I'm not sure how impressive my application is, but thanks for the insight! :) I find it odd that they release decisions/interviews piecemeal and not all a once, but who am I to say........
