Vanderbilt MSN 2015

Published

Hello,

I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!

Best regards,

What specialty?

The FNP! I'm graduating this May with my BSN

Hey Everyone!

Long time lurker, first time poster. I submitted my application on Oct 29 and got my acceptance letter on Saturday for FNP! I'm sure those who applied before Nov1 will be notified of decisions very soon. My online application status hasn't changed yet though.

Has your online status changed yet? I got my letter in the mail today, but I think it's strange that I got a letter first vs. the online app being updated first. Seems like that should be way quicker...?

also just so you guys know, my status says "submitted" even though I've already been accepted. I got an email today that said that there was an update on my application page and then I clicked the link on the application status page and it brought up the acceptance letter.

It took several days for my online application status to change.

..............

I called Vanderbilt admissions this morning and was told that my application was still awaiting review. When I asked for an approximate period of time that I can expect to hear back by I was told "I don't know." I even talked to two different people who both gave me the same answer. This is so frustrating! For the record I am applying for psych, direct entry.

And I applied by the Nov 1st deadline

I called last week and was told Jan 14th for FNP direct entry?!

That's nice that they gave you a date. I feel like I'm stuck in limbo!

Trying to stay positive here but it's getting hard with these rather fluid deadlines the school is giving us. Some programs are now notifying direct entry which I thought would happen after pre-specialty so that feels like a bad omen for me. Thanks for calling, Sasha!

That is very frustrating! Sasha9886, you applied for Direct Entry (as opposed to Pre-specialty)? I wonder if the timelines are different for Direct entry vs Pre-specialty. I applied for Pre-specialty psych before the Nov 1st deadline and am also waiting anxiously. I so hope we hear soon!

Zoeyb, I applied Direct Entry... I think? I don't really understand the terms. I have a BSN and have been a psych nurse for a few years so whatever route that would be lol. How can you be pre-specialty psych, wouldn't psych be your chosen specialty...?
