Vanderbilt MSN 2015

I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!

It blows my mind how we are all finding out about our acceptances at different/random times! Since it's now early January, I hope those of you who are waiting will hear wonderful news soon!

Hi!! I just received a call this morning, letting me know I was accepted to the Midwifery program. :) I am also pre specialty! She said I should receive a letter in the mail this week. :) Clearly I am very excited!.

Looking forward to hearing lots more good news on this thread in the next few weeks.

First off, congratulations! Secondly - you got the call on New Years Day?! That is crazy!

I would not be surprised if I was wait listed or not selected at all after my interview. It's a great program that is doing exciting things but I felt like even philosophically it wasn't the best match for me and I think that probably showed in some of my responses. Regardless, it was a great experience and I am honored to have gotten as far as I did. I definitely think that it was a good chance to think critically about how I would like to approach my subsequent interviews with other programs.

Honestly that was my big reason to try to get an interview with another school, I just wanted some practice before any school I liked more might offer an interview.

I know we're not after the same specialty, but I'm interested to know what philosophical differences you detected between yourself and Vanderbilt?

There really is nothing negative to say about them or their program. I just feel like they are very by-the-books and I am a little more crunchy-granola. I don't know how else to put it and it's not really a reflection of their program as much as it is a reflection of my personality, if that makes sense.

Hey everyone!

I got accepted for the CNM/FNP program! I'll see you all next year! Does anyone know when people typically start looking for housing for school started in the Fall? Also does Vandy start in August? I'm so excited! Has anyone started a FB page for the Fall 2015 prespecialty students?
