  1. I just accepted an offer at another school and turned down my Columbia offer. I simply couldn't justify the cost of the program, along with the prospect of relocating my family to NYC. Anyone on the PMHNP waiting list, congrats! And congrats to everyone else- I wish you all the best of luck : )
  2. Yes, Allie, thanks so much for being so helpful in answering all these questions for us!! When do we start figuring out financial aid stuff? Also, I plan on driving up to Richmond to visit the campus in the next couple of weeks. Any suggestions as to when/where to go? I think I saw that there are tours offered most Fridays. And anyone else out there going to be commuting from Charlottesville? So excited to start this process soon!
  3. I was also granted admission! I'm so excited. I'm hoping for good news for you waitlisters out there!! allie, I have a question for you! How many people in this accelerated program go on immediately to one of VCU's NP programs? My end goal is psychiatric np. Do you think I would be able to get into VCU's psych np program right after the accelerated or would I need to work as an rn for a while? Thanks!!
  4. I was denied admission as well to PMHNP. It's definitely upsetting, but I'm sure things will work out for all of us. Congrats to those of you who were granted admission!
  5. Congrats, snoozyd! I hope I (and the rest who are waiting) hear soon!
  6. I just called as well. I was told that my application is still awaiting review, and that it is currently "in their bin" (they will review it soon, maybe?). The lady I spoke with also said that she does think that they have been phone interviewing psych applicants recently, but she's not sure if they are planning on interviewing all applicants or not.
  7. Everyone still hanging in there? Psych pre-specialty here. Still haven't heard anything. I thought I'd be able to forget about it and stop stressing, but I find myself checking this forum/email/application constantly!
  8. Hi Allie, Thanks so much for your reply! Your information is very helpful. I think that's all I have for now- but I'll let you know should I think of anything else : ) I guess I should be hearing pretty soon! The wait is horrible!
  9. Thanks so much for your response, VANurse! I think you're right that we would probably prefer to remain in Charlottesville and commute, though the drive might be a pain!
  10. That is very frustrating! Sasha9886, you applied for Direct Entry (as opposed to Pre-specialty)? I wonder if the timelines are different for Direct entry vs Pre-specialty. I applied for Pre-specialty psych before the Nov 1st deadline and am also waiting anxiously. I so hope we hear soon!
  11. Thanks so much for your reply, Allie! How often are clinicals at 6:45am? Are there any semesters/day of the week that start a bit later with classes instead of clinicals? Do clinicals start from the very beginning of the program? I'm trying to get a feel for how many days per week and how soon I would have to start getting there that early. My fiance and I would be open to moving in between Richmond and Cville, but I'm just not sure of any good areas to consider. Richmond is a little too far to my fiance to move to keep his current job. Thanks for any advice!
  12. Hi Allie! Thank you so much for all of your really helpful posts- I really appreciate them. I applied to the VCU ABSN program starting in summer '15. I'm wondering if you know of any students in the program with you who commute from Charlottesville, or other areas that are equally far away from Richmond. I'm considering it (if I am accepted, of course!) and wanted to know your input. Thanks so much!!
  13. I'm definitely freaking out. I don't know if I can wait until the end of the month. It looks like last year decisions went out around the 25th even though they were also told they'd find out on the 31st!
  14. Thanks, guys! Congrats to all of you who are in! I live in Charlottesville, so I'd be happy to give any advice or answer any questions.
  15. Hi snoozyd, She didn't say anything about when the rest will be released, but she said I could call back next week and she would check again for me. Presumably, whenever decisions are available, we will get an email, so I'm not sure that calling her would be all that useful, but if it's a week from now and we still haven't heard anything, I might be too impatient not to call back!
