Vanderbilt MSN 2015

Published

Hello,

I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!

Best regards,

I applied to the FNP program for Fall 2015. I received an email this past weekend enrolling me as an applicant to another specialty (Adult-Gerontology) as well. I called today and was told that was because they thought I would be a good applicant for that program. Did this happen to anyone else? Or does anyone know of this happening previously?

Weird. Do you already have a BSN?

No, I am applying to the pre-specialty program. I have a B.S. in a non-nursing field.

Well congrats! That's awesome. Thanks for your reply.

Oh god, I was looking through last year's thread and it seems that there is a separate review process for applicants who submitted after the priority deadline. I don't know if any of you are in the same boat.

Thanks. I don't know if it is a good thing or not? That was why I was inquiring.

Congrats to those who were accepted since the first wave of decisions! I have decided to check out Nashville this month and I was wondering if any locals or even previous visitors can offer advice about where to visit to get the best idea of where I will be looking for apartments!

Also, good luck to those who are waiting!

It depends on a lot of different factors I suppose. You can find some reasonably priced apartments in Green Hills, which is very close to Vanderbilt. Many students live in Bellevue. That is on the very west side of Nashville but Hwy 70 runs straight from Bellevue by Vanderbilt. East Nashville is very trendy but mostly pricey. And the Vanderbilt area is pretty pricey, but obviously very convenient.

Congrats to all of those who have been accepted and my fingers are crossed for those still waiting! Has anyone inquired about asking for an extension for the Jan 30th deadline? Also curious about financial aid- I received the amount on the admission letter in the mail and was wondering if anyone knew from previous classes if it usually increases or stays at that amount? Or if anyone knows of good scholarships to apply to from previous experiences!

I haven't been accepted into either of the programs. I just had an alternate application set up for the other program that I did not apply for.
