How long did it take for anything to happen once you have been referred?

So it's easier to give you the timeline
January- Applied
March- called to set up interview
April- Interviewed
June- Told I was hired
July- Processed paperwork
August-got my firm offer from HR, start in a few weeks.
It's a long process. It is not fast at all. It's a lot of hurry up and wait. Although it will be worth it in the end

Good morning! I was given a tentative offer! Now I’m working on the 9 dimensions and 3 letters of recommendations addressing those 9 dimensions to submit for boarding and salary determination. Can anyone provide me examples you had provided for each dimension? Did you have to submit the letters of recommendations supporting the 9 dimensions?

Hi...I applied for a VA outpatient clinic RN job and I am in the referral stage. My question is, will I know the pay rate at the interview? I work at a state hospital now with great pay and benefits so that would be my deciding factor.
I really want a M-F job but I have a pension and I am not sure that the FERS would be comparable to what I would receive for my pension (considering I only want to work for another 10-11 years). I looked online but the explanations are confusing - does anyone know of any websites that are easier to understand?
Thanks in advance!!

So once you submitted all the necessary documentation and did your physical/fingerprinting, do they notify you about each component like vetpro, eqip, nursing board separately. I asked my HR specialist for a timeline and she just replied "it depends on how long it takes for your credentialing". I started the vetpro process three weeks ago and have not heard back from my credentialing specialist. I did the nursing dimensions within 3 days of accepting the tentative offer so that was about a month ago. I know they like to have everything necessary before the dimensions sheet is sent to the board. I honestly think the soonest I'll start would be October because I have to do a 30 day notice at my current job which HR is aware of. Would be nice to get an estimate but it's the VA so I know what to expect after reading all these threads LOL.

It all depends on how much has to be verified for credentialing. How many jobs have to be verified? How much education and how many certifications and licenses have to be verified? This is highly individual and not necessarily possible to compare one to the other. The HR person who did my vet pro notified me when she was done with it. This is not the same person as your HR specialist. I never heard anything when the equip was done. I just completed it and that’s that. My HR specialist did notify me when the board was done with their review of my packet.
you are correct usually they want everything done and completed before your packet goes to the board. And some VAs the board does not meet every week! Keep that in mind too.
I just hope that is going to move fast for you and that none of your VA employee will go on vacation...

They don’t usually discuss pay rates at interviews. When you applied it gave you a range of income. You’ll fall somewhere in between that. It all depends on your experience and dimensions that you will provide once you’ve received a tentative offer.

I have a feeling they are giving all the new hires the maximum grade and step to cover for the surge/crisis pay that other hospitals are offering. The hospital I will be leaving from was giving us all $20 an hour extra for crisis pay. IDK will have to wait and find out.

Hey,
Just checking in with you for an update? Did you start yet? How is your experience thus far? Are they going to keep you at nurse II step 12?

Thanks so much for your response. I reached out to the credentialing specialist and she informed me I could email her weekly for updates. Now that I've done everything asked of me, I'm a bit more calm so I'll probably check on it biweekly and not bother them much. I think once my vetpro is completed, everything will progress forward rather quickly after that. I honestly don't foresee any issues with the physical/lab work, background check, or drug screen.
My credentialing specialist reached out to me today, I had to add my compact license in as another license but she said outside of that she was done. She seemed surprised she was already done and stated my file would go before the board either tomorrow or next week as the board is meeting. Seems surreal as I was just fussing last week about how long I was anticipating this taking. Here's to hoping they come with a decent offer!
