  2. Hey there! How long do you find something out after your phone interview? The lady sent me something in an email wanting references and said she will only call references if she want to hire me. Interviews were over on Tuesday and it is Friday now.
  3. Anyone have any tips on how to get hired at the VA? I have put in about 12 apps to 2 different VAs. I always get referrred but never get a phone call or interview. I have 5 years RN , preop/pacu experience. Have my BSN, and always have office experience. Any tips on getting an interview? thanks In advance!
  4. How long did it take for anything to happen once you have been referred?
  5. Hi there, im not lucy but im currently in the program. I just finished the 3rd class and finally have the hang of it that it is somewhat easy now. Its pretty much the same week to week and class to class. As long as you have APA format down (you will learn what to do in first class) you will do good on papers. I took one class each 5 weeks but i think im going to start to do 2 classes now.
  6. Hi everyone! Im an RN from ohio (just graduated in december) and me and my husband might move around nashville like maybe franklin/spring hill area...what are some good places to work? Will it be hard to get a job for a new RN? Right now im working in the ER where i live but have only been there a couple of months. TIA!
  7. I just completed level 2 and have 1 more year for my ADN. I work 2 days a week (as an LPN). I feel like all I do is nursing. I do occasionally get to see my friends but its very rare since my days off I have to work. And during the week I have to study. I think it all depends on your study ethic. I have to read things 3-4 times over to understand it. You will be fine! Good luck! :)
  8. I feel this exact same way! I've been a floor nurse LPN for 4 months now ( a year in a doctors office) I thought I was doing okay until I had my first code on Friday..i felt completely useless and embaressed because people were yelling at me and asking me about his labs...how am I supposed to memorize 5 peoples lab results? And im in school to become an RN and am having 2nd thoughts..what was I thinking? Maybe we can lean on eachother :)
  9. I just thought I would post to let you know that you are not alone! This almost exact thing happened to me last night! Ive only been a nurse for a year and a half but only a floor nurse since april ( I worked in a doctors office). My patient coded on me while I was in the room. His blood pressure was getting really low so I told the nurse to call an ACT call. His EF was only 14% . But he was fine in the morning! we were joking around and everything and literally like 2 hours later all this happened. I took acls only 3 weeks ago. When he totally went blank on me, his wife ran out to the nurses station to get help and literally 80 people ran it. It was extreme chaos. One nurse was screaming at my to get the monitor/defib so I did but I couldn't figure out how to hook it up..i completely froze..and I got yelled out by her..it was so embaressing but I didn't even care at the moment because I was in complete shock..people were yelling things at eachother and it was just madness. Everyone said I did good for my first time (I feel like I did absolutely nothing) The doctor was asking about his labs..all I could remember was his magnesium was high but couldn't remember a thing else..Your story made me feel a little bit better..not because of what you went through but to know that it is normal to feel this way..i think we will both get better through these experiences..hopefully!
  10. Thanks everyone! I just had my class 2 weeks ago ( my teacher why through every thing fast) we use a zoll so I've even looking up info on that :) people were just screaming at me to do stuff that I wasn't sure what to do which is why I was asking so u would know for next time! There were like 80 people in there.. It was ridiculous
  11. Yes that's what I was looking for! thanks so much!
  12. I had my first code today- was horrible had no idea what I was doing! The zoll had that has the paddles on it also had like lead electrodes.. I had no idea wher they went?
