Hi everyone...
I just wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to University of West Georgia Nursing School starting Summer 2014. We can all support each other and share the information and updates that we know of. I am a current sophomore at UWG. Right now my GPA is at a 3.56. I will be eligible for the bonus given to students that have taken 15 or more hours at West Georgia. Last night I went and toured the new nursing building...awesome! Anyways... hope I can get some feedback! We need a support group!
@jonesel9 I did not put all my eggs in one basket, so I applied to other schools in addition to UWG. I applied to clayton state, middle ga (macon), kennesaw state, and columbus state (columbus, ga). Hopefully, one of the other schools will have some good news. uue0060 is right about Armstrong, I was actually accepted there, and they do have an accelerated program, but the deadline has passed. Mercer aka GA Baptist is still open until May, but that 10,000 price tag makes me nervous, but it may be the only option.
@kjewel36 I think I figured this out,.What was your gpa?Did you get any bouns points? It seems to me they only accept students who have a high gpa above 3.5.If you don't have this then have the other requirements for extra points they listed.I figured it out after I viewed everyones comments.
The lowest gpa that I saw was Keondra, she said hers was a 3.3. Idk...@jonesel9, did you apply to any other schools?
In response to those who didn't get in, I am a Senior at Lagrange College and would strongly encourage you to consider LC. It is expensive but the financial aid office was able to help me find funds. Feel free to to message with any questions. Deadline is April 15. For those who got in congrats! You are on your way!
Btw UWG's other campus is in Newnan not Newton.
@jonesel9 when I was accepted to armstrong, I had a 78 on the teas. Me and that teas are not friends, I have taken that test 7 times...lol...don't judge me...lol but the last time I took it was in February, I got an 80. It's not the easiest test. Middle Ga and Columbus State require the HESI, which is much easier than the TEAS. Well I am hoping and praying for you to make it into nursing school at some point in the near future, no matter what please do not give up!!
@jonesel9 Well, I'm actually officially going to Mercer. They accepted me back in January. Honestly, I've been kinda leaning towards them anyways regardless of if I got into UWG. I seem to like it there and the people there are just wonderful. I'm not excited about the huge cost, but I'm so excited to go to the school.
