UTMB Summer 2016

Hey guys! I couldn't find a thread for UTMB Summer 2016 so I decided to make one. I guess because it's a little early since they just open for applications. This is the first time I use NursingCAS so I'm not quite sure how it work yet. If anyone is familiar with NursingCAS, could you please share your experience? I sent in my transcript 3 days ago and right now I'm working on my personal statement. I saw some previous threads where people mentioned about MyStar and supplemental application/document? Is it something you will receive after you submit everything on NursingCAS?

Thanks. So far from how things went for the class that started this spring we should a fb page up and running mid February. I am pretty sure that the other one was up about 3 months before everything began so hopefully soon it will be easier to communicate with everyone.

To all looking for housing:

I am still waiting for my interview, but I have been talking to my cousin who is already living an exciting nursing school life on the island. He currently lives in the dorms, and is satisfied with it. His dorm is coed. Each floor is mixed gender, and everyone gets their own room. They just share a bathroom with their neighbor who is of the same sex. We both live in Houston, and he manages to commute back home every weekend. If anyone has any questions about dorm life at utmb, I will be always happy to ask.

I'm also looking for a place to stay while in Nursing school. I Can't wait for the FB page so I can narrow my choices. Also, If anyone is interested in becoming roommates let me know since that would work even better for me. I stay in Houston and don't want to drive everyday to school like that.

Great news is that I've been accepted But I'm wondering where I can go to see which classes and credit hours were accepted by UTMB so I can sign up and finish all the prerequisites that I need this Spring semester?

Hello everyone, I got in yesterday as well! :) I had anxiously been waiting and finally got the email around 4 yesterday. To those who have been accepted, did your email say "conditionally accepted based on successful completion of all pre-requisite courses and background check"? I'm positive I'm finished with my pre-reqs, but I'm nervous as to why is says that (maybe just still shaken in general haha) I guess it could be just the background check but the email says we can't even do that till march? I'll call and ask if no one knows but just wondering if anyone else got this.

To those still waiting to hear back: Goodluck, and keep your mindset in the direction that you have done all that you can. Remember you chose this field to help people so keep at that!

Yeah that is just the normal thing and I believe that they will send an email out about directions about the background checks. Congrats

Congrats everyone! Yes that is normal and we can only make sure transcripts are received and immunization record. Well, and CPR. The rest we are waiting for instructions. I'm so excited for you and can't wait to meet you all! :)
