UTMB Summer 2016

Hey guys! I couldn't find a thread for UTMB Summer 2016 so I decided to make one. I guess because it's a little early since they just open for applications. This is the first time I use NursingCAS so I'm not quite sure how it work yet. If anyone is familiar with NursingCAS, could you please share your experience? I sent in my transcript 3 days ago and right now I'm working on my personal statement. I saw some previous threads where people mentioned about MyStar and supplemental application/document? Is it something you will receive after you submit everything on NursingCAS?

Any information will help! Thanks in advance :)

Hey! With nursingcas things can get a little confusing and time consuming. A couple of tips I have is to be sure that they they get your transcripts as early as possible and make sure they verify them before the due date. After the deadline passes, utmb will send you a series of emails for the supplemental application and everything continues from there. Goodluck!

Thank you! I just received an email from

NursingCas saying that they have my transcript and it's being processed right now. :)

I'm likewise applying for the summer so we can both stay in contact

I'm glad I found your post! I just took my Teas test and didn't do as well as I had hoped to do so I'm going to retake it! How did you do on yours? I'm so nervous about the entire application process!

I have not taken my TEAS test yet. I am so nervous about the application process too. It is my first time using Nursingcas so I really do not want to mess anything up.

@amoore_88 what was the hardest part for you in regards to the teas.

The science part was tuff for me. I bought the practice book and I feel like it was not very helpful. The math portion was my second worse score, you really have to do well on the timing portion, I had 2 mins. left and about 10 questions that I still needed to finish so I freaked out and started to guess.

I just finished reading all of the post from UTMB Spring 2016 forum which was very helpful. It gave me an idea of what GPA and TEAS score UTMB looks for and what the interviews will be like. Hopefully, more people get involved in this forum! Good luck to everyone!

Hi! Sorry, been busy so I haven't had the chance to get on here. But to answer your question, I didn't do so well also. My overall score is 76.8

Is everyone already finish with the application and all?

Hey everyone! I am considering applying to UTMB, I have been debating for a while on whether to apply or not, because I live in Houston and would have to end up commuting, but I think I am going to go for it. Can you guys tell me more about the application process, requirements, and your experience so far? I've already taken my TEAS and HESI since I am applying to schools in Houston as well.

Any input or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ☺️

The application process is long. I would recommend going to their website and reading the requirements and the process it takes to complete the full application. My experience has been smooth so far. Nursing CAS can get a little confusing in the beginning, especially if it is your first time using it. That is why it is best to call Nursing CAS or talk to someone who has used Nursing CAS if you have any questions about the process before you submit your application.
