UTMB Summer 2016

Published

Hey guys! I couldn't find a thread for UTMB Summer 2016 so I decided to make one. I guess because it's a little early since they just open for applications. This is the first time I use NursingCAS so I'm not quite sure how it work yet. If anyone is familiar with NursingCAS, could you please share your experience? I sent in my transcript 3 days ago and right now I'm working on my personal statement. I saw some previous threads where people mentioned about MyStar and supplemental application/document? Is it something you will receive after you submit everything on NursingCAS?

Any information will help! Thanks in advance :)

The application process is long. I would recommend going to their website and reading the requirements and the process it takes to complete the full application. My experience has been smooth so far. Nursing CAS can get a little confusing in the beginning, especially if it is your first time using it. That is why it is best to call Nursing CAS or talk to someone who has used Nursing CAS if you have any questions about the process before you submit your application.

How did you do on your Teas test? I'm retaking mine on the 25th of this month. Then I will apply the next day!

I live in Cypress so I'm the same boat!!

I got an 84 on it! I'm pretty happy with my score, especially because I was so busy that I didn't get a chance to study very much at all, and was for sure I was going to bomb it. But I crammed what I could the 2 days before and did better than I thought I would!!!

Thanks guys for your responses!!!

Are you planning to commute as well?

I'm worried about my GPA only being 3.3 I hope that my TEAS scores will compensate for that. What do you guys think?

Yes!! It's going to be insane but I'm totally up for it.

Your GPA should be fine especially since you scored really high on the TEAS test! I know you will get in! I live in the Houston area but I plan to move down to Galveston once I am accepted. I do not think I would like driving an hour out and in everyday.

The commute was the only thing holding me back from applying, because I don't have the option of moving to Galveston. But I think I have the best chance of getting in at this school, and honestly I have always wanted to attend UT. Commuting from cypress, wow! I live in the Montrose area, and I'm whining, lol.

Thank you, I really hope so! A 15 month program is ideal for me I'm ready to get this done! I wish us all the best of luck ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

Hey guys! I live in the Houston area as well! But I don't like driving to Galveston everyday so I will be moving there once I get in. I heard personal statement and interview are also very important part of the application so don't worry if your GPA or TEAS score is not so good. I've seen plenty get in but their stats are just okay.

UTMB also consider your experience! So if you have any that would be a plus! :)
