UTMB Spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

Okay soooooooo did you get an interview before admission??? I'm super nervous that if I don't get an interview, then that means I don't have as high of a chance of getting in. So as applicants, should we be concerned if we don't get called for an interview?

One of my friends got in without an interview for the fall 2017 semester, but her gpa and test scores were very very high. almost perfect in both.

It is my understanding that a select few get direct admission and those students usually have exemplary grades & test scores.

This is what I have heard too.

Thanks for the info! I have a 3.6 GPA overall and if I get an A in my elective science, I'll have a 3.4 science GPA. Here's my TEAS scores:

Math: 93.8

Science: 72.2

English: 88.5

Reading: 79.9

*looking at the national score percentiles, I feel fairly confident with these scores and when I called the S.A.O. they said I was considered competitive.

I'm extremely nervous. I'm checking my email religiously and driving myself nuts. Prayers for an interview! I also just applied to UTHSC. I literally moved from Oklahoma to have an opportunity to be in the Houston Medical Center, so I hope it will be worth it! Does anyone know an exact date that all applicants are supposed to have an update by? Whether it be accepted or not/wait-listed?

Those are some really great grades and I wouldn't see why you wouldn't get in at all...the exact date would have to be when a bit after the summer deadlines and they crossover on application pools

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say that I received an email today saying I have been accepted!!! I interviewed on July 17th. Good luck to everyone!
