UTMB Spring 2012

Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

I'm down for a meet and greet. Just let me know. I have a crazy work schedule.

I know UTMB constantly changes their schedule but anyone have any idea what the schedule will look like for Spring?

I just received my acceptance e-mail. I called and gladly accepted. I look forward to meeting my new classmates.

don't get bummed about grades as i think i hold the lowest overall gpa... i was at a 2.98 when i applied and managed to get it up to a 3.05 once i completed my pre-reqs....i have about 12 'w's on my record from a few years back also....

i did make a 90.7 on my teas and all a's and 1 b on all recent classes, but my overall school history was less than sparkling.

i am in the dickinson/league city area and would love to get together to meet all of you. maybe dinner and drinks?

I actually think we will be the last springers UTMB will have for a while. I was looking at their website and noticed that there is now a summer and fall semester...

Anyone else on here still not gotten an interview? I'm trying to be patient but this wait is killing me and I have to let another school know if I want to accept my admission offer...I emailed TC yesterday and she said they're still reviewing apps but I can't help but feel kind of defeated at this point :(

am in the same boat ....havent heard anything...is kinda depressing lol.....i just want to know if am in or not.......i wont be mad...i just want to know thats all lol...but i guess i have to wait :) no wonder they say patience is a virtue!!

Getting together is a great idea, but if you wait until closer until the end of this semester, there will be more accepted :)

One of my friends still has yet to get asked for an interview... I think they would be completely bonkers to not interview her at the very least. I think she would be a perfect fit in the program....

@sunshine im glad to know there's someone who knows how i feel. I just hope we get a chance. I feel like I'm being pretty realistic thinking that my 3.65 gpa and 88 on teas would at least get me an interview but who knows...

I'm still waiting as well. However they are still supposed to be reviewing applications so there's still a chance for us.

for those who haven't heard back yet, DON'T LOOSE HOPE!!! They are likely not even close to being done, the interviews drug on for quiet a while for our class. I have two people in my clinical group that got accepted three days AFTER orientation had already started!!! What's that saying? It's not over until the fat lady sings?? :) I felt like I would NEVER get a call - waiting sucks, I know that well!! But hang in there, okay??

Cristina, your scores sound a lot like mine. UTMB is weird though, they have no [identifiable ] system on how they accept students - scores are all over the place. I had an entire semester of Fs (and they were major science courses!!)
