Hey Guys!
I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!
I just need to look at a schedule and make my decision based upon that... I don't know how I'm gonna deal with being away from my daughters throughout the week but I wanna get school out the way so I'm gonna have to adjust to being with them when time permits... Thank god it's only 15 months.
hi, everyone i just found these thread and i think is very helpful. pls can any one let me know if high school diploma is part of the requirement when applying, cos i went to high school back at africa and i dont have my diploma with me and i am planning on applying for fall 2012. i just want to know if its required so that i can either plan taking a GED or high scholl diploma exam. Thanks

I think you will need a high school GED. However, to be sure, you can email the admissions advisor. Her email is listed on the UTMB website.
I'm thinking Gemini is right. I'm not positive, and it probably differs with the school, but if you have more than 15?? hours of college, you're considered a transfer student rather than an incoming freshman and won't need your HS diploma to prove anything anymore. Especially if you're applying to nursing school... you've already had to complete all these prereqs, so they're accepting you as a transfer student and assuming that you've atleast made it out of high school.
Did any of us have to turn in HS Diploma? I don't think I've seen my diploma since I graduated 9 years ago. Wait... DID I graduate? Hmmm.

LOL!!! Too funny!
No diploma shown here :-)
I just have to say that I hope we get our acceptance letters really soon! I am EXHAUSTED! I'm doing 17 hours this semester, RN program and CHEM and History 1301, I'm doing a major fundraiser for a non-profit and I'm mom to three (one with very special needs), and a wife...
I am SO ready to know if I got in or not! I never would have accepted the RN position had I known I was going to get an interview! I'm just ready to concentrate on my History and Chem classes so I can start in the Spring with UTMB! I have literally been studying for 3 weeks straight...lol No breaks!
I'll be so glad when I can slow down this semester and focus on UTMB!
Okay, just needed to vent... Thanks :-)
Signed,
Tired mom and student!

Would you have any issues with babysitting? IDK. That's a hard one. Because i'm sure you want to be with your daughter, but at the same time would it be harder focusing on classes with her there, or is she pretty passive an quiet. But eek, I can't imagine if I had a child only being able to see her on the weekends
