Hey Guys!
I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!
Yeah, the drop counter started Fall 2007. Undergrads are allowed up to 6 dropped classes, but classes only count towards your 6 if you drop them after the drop date allowed by the school. It usually is about a month after classes begin when they allow a "drop with academic penalty". Dropped classes before this date do not count against you.
I really hope they don't wait til Friday to send out the first round of invites. The wait is driving me insane. I was at UTMB all weekend for my fiance's WC ceremony and it killed me to be there without hearing anything from the SON yet! I want in so bad it hurts!
I just checked my MyStar and it says I need to "submit an official transcript documenting completion/exemption of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) to enrollment services" does anyone know what this means?!
They've never been super specific with me about this, as I have asked several different schools about it (they all require it). There's also not much info on the web if you research it.
Basically, they want to make sure that you are at a college level in writing, reading and mathematics. From what I understand, if you've taken college level courses and received college credit for a class in each of these 3 areas, you have proven your college level competency and you should be considered TSI satisfied.
I may be wrong, but that's what worked for me. I was also TSI exempt at a few schools due to my prior military service.

My MyStar is saying the same thing and I graduated last May so i don't know if they're slow at updating the system, but i emailed Enrollment at UTMB so i will let you know what they say. It just means you need to be Core Complete before the program starts and the Core classes are listed on the website.

Granted that being core complete WILL make you TSI satisfied, I think you can be TSI satisfied without being core complete. When I was talking to TWU, they said that you need to be TSI satisfied to get in, but if you're not core complete then you'd have to take their Multiculture Women's Studies, along with a few other classes.
Every school has their own core curriculum, but TSI is the same accross the board. What really matters is that you're core complete at the school you are transferring FROM. If not, then you'll have to satisfy the core requirements at the school you're transferring TO.
Correct me if I'm wrong... I've just gathered this from talking to counselors. I'm no expert by any means.
