UTMB Spring 2012

Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

Wow thats rough! Being out of district will jack those prices, but HCC is the priciest of all community colleges....

I cannot imagine driving from Katy to galveston everyday! If you get in are tyou planning on moving down here?

It seems to me that a lot of people missed the June 15 deadline from reading the other boards. I hate waiting and wish they would let us know already, but that's a part of the process.

@rocketryder: which school did you end up going with?

I am 90% for sure I am going with com. San jacinto was not going to take alternates even if i declined so i went ahead and accepted my spot in case I chamge my mind. What boards are you reading? I wish we knew already too

Just checking on you i know it was a difficult decision between the two. I was just reading other Nursing schools Spring 2012 boards and some appilcants didnt know the deadline for UTMB was June.

Does anyone know when interview invitations will be sent out? I have been anxiously waiting to hear something, anything back from UTMB. I feel like my brain will explode if I have to wait another day. The reason I am so anxious is that I still have two more classes that need to be taken, so if I get accepted, I need to enroll in those classes by the beggining of August. Right now, I go to a school where I am also going to apply to their nursing program, and have different classes that need to be taken there. The school I am at does not require the same classes as UTMB. AAAHHH. What to do?? Has anyone heard back?

If i were you i would take the classes you need for all schools that you plan to apply to it just makes things a lot easier.

yea i wrote utmb and this is the reply i received "

we anticipate beginning interviews in september. we appreciate your patience."

I was told that invitations for interviews will be going out in August sometime (I assume it will at least be mid August before anyone hears anything) and interviews are to begin in September.

Specializes in ICU.

The first round of interviews will be way after the fall semester begins. But that is if you are chosen for the first round. Later rounds could go all the way till december.... :/

Enroll for all the classes then drop the ones you don't need when you find out where you land. I was in your shoes at the end of Fall. It was a wonderful feeling to drop those Summer courses I didn't need...there might have been a few fist pumps in the air.
