Hey sammie..........How much is your health insurance?

ms sealy, right now pvamu is my for sure acceptance and might me be my only since i didn't get an interview for utmb. i already finished the required steps for pvamu: criminal background, drug screen and so on. i learned to never put all my eggs into one basket because that basket my break and leave you with nothing.

but i do hope to still be part of the drinking ceremony after the interviews or acceptance because i am sure in need of hurricane. lol!!!!!!!!!

jazzy - i agree with you. you should not put all your eggs in one basket and i would definitely prepare myself for pv especially since it is a done deal.

i have yet to get a response to e-mails sent to them and i called this morning and they were closed. i just wanted to know what the procedures were for re-applying if it is a "denial". i will be applying to pv next time since your stats are similar to mine. it is first come first serve and my aunt got her first degree in engineering there. she wants me to apply to pv and my mother got her bsn from utmb so i was trying to follow in her footsteps.

i am not feeling down but hopeful and i will not give up.

i am enjoying the moment's right along with you all who have been accepted and have interviews.:yeah:

sherbevs, since you already in the program of nursing, ADN program.. I don't think you will have problem with the ACC BACC2.

I am thinking of switching to the traditional generic before of the workload and lack of nursing experience because I heard that the clinical is tough...I hope they will allow me to switch....I am taking CNA CLASS right now to better prepare my mind...I finished the clinical test and getting ready for the written one next week...

CaseyTate412, how did you learned you got accepted? thru email or postal mail?

Does you Econnect indicate pending or something else?

Jade I do think your chances r great a PV, not to say u still haven't been accepted in UTMB. But Hung finish applying to PV on the day of the deadline and got an acceptance 2 weeks later. Stay hopeful you will succeed.

UnitedHealthCare for spring semester I paid $364. You have to prove that you have purchase the insurance before you are allow to enroll in the program...That was the message on my econnect account...

sammie thats a pretty good price for the semester.

Hi Sherbevs,

Congrats to you. I did get an acceptance letter. A few days after I mailed off my acceptance, the e-Connect changed and asked if I accepted. When I said yes, it shows some added details, like receipt of the bacterial meningitis letter and health insurance letter. I am now waiting a few days to contact financial aid to see what my status is with them.

I don't think you'll have a problem with the Bacc2 already having had some classes. My interviewer actually stressed the forming of study groups etc.. to help us succeed. Also, there's a lot of support once you get into it. If you feel that the workload is too much, just talk to your advisor and they will transfer you to the generic track. I would wait though and see how it goes first.

I'll be commuting, too. I live on the Pearland side of Friendswood. If our clinicals are in the same place, maybe we could commute if you like.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Best wishes,

Deb.

Sherbevs,

I'm sure your econnect will change soon since you already know you're accepted. Give it a little while.

Hello All,

This is a little late but oh well!

Although I joined and started and finished reading this blog yesterday, I have been dealing with UTMB for as RIDICULOUSLY long as everyone else!! I applied for Bacc2 before the deadline and never heard anything from them up until TUESDAY (the 10th)!!

I was one of those annoying girls that called every week (at least twice) checking to see when interview requests were going out and when the last day for interviews would be. Finally on Monday, ***** told me they were legitimately done sending out all interviews and the last bacc2 would be on the 13th. And I didn't get one! So I had her pull my file. She was silent for seriously like 3 minutes and then she started saying "oh my gosh oh my gosh." Turns out, enrollment services had mis-coded my transcript to where it said I a zero for my science gpa, implying that I had an incomplete app. Therefore, SON had never even seen it. I was flabbergasted!!! I asked her how I could be treated fairly with everyone else and still have a chance at an interview.

I have to say this wasn't the first time I was maddened during this applicaiton process! Needless to say, ****** called me at 1pm Tuesday asking me to set up an interview for this Friday the 13th (hopefully no bad luck coincidence with this one!). I am excited now, but a little worried. Does this disorganization bode terrible things for the future? Or is it supposed to get better once we're in school? Haven't yall heard of the saying "it never gets better than when you're dating?" As in, if it sucks now, it will suck worse later? Just looking for some uplifting words! And wanting to join in on discussions!

That happened to me too...they didn't code my classes correctly either...so they are looking over it...even after months of calling and making sure they had everything in and everything was coded correctly. Also I just got my first degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, and they didn't know what some of my classes meant so they just decided not to contact me. And again after months of calling and calling and making sure they understood everything they still didn't ask for course descriptions or anythign so they said they would let me know tomorrow if i get an interview!!! So annoying, and I am glad to hear its not just me it keeps happening to.

jazzy your doing the right thing..i'm being selfish cause i wanted you to be my study buddy...:specs: i'm happy for you and want us to keep in touch even though you will be wearing white scrubs and hopefully i'll be wearing orange!

now what is all this talk about health insurance? i have health insurance thru my job..do i need to purchase more? i was planning to work part time at my job so i could keep my benefits (i work from home, get free cable, nearly 5 weeks of vacation saved up, have insurance, and a few other perks).
