Hey guys Im making this thread so all of the applicants for UTMB Spring 2010 can follow each other through the process and help each other out! The application deadline is coming up soon! Goodluck to all!:nuke: I know they are only exepting 60 for the spring.
Ms Sealy we will definitely stay in touch even though you are a longhorn and I'm an aggie. LOL!!!!!!!!!!! It says you have to have a certain amount of coverage Sealy, I would check to make sure yours qualify.
And to all you'll interviewing this week, "You got the spot, now its time for you to step up and claim it, it's yours."
Kick Butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm am so jealous that all u had the chance to interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Sherbevs,Congrats to you. I did get an acceptance letter. A few days after I mailed off my acceptance, the e-Connect changed and asked if I accepted. When I said yes, it shows some added details, like receipt of the bacterial meningitis letter and health insurance letter. I am now waiting a few days to contact financial aid to see what my status is with them.
I don't think you'll have a problem with the Bacc2 already having had some classes. My interviewer actually stressed the forming of study groups etc.. to help us succeed. Also, there's a lot of support once you get into it. If you feel that the workload is too much, just talk to your advisor and they will transfer you to the generic track. I would wait though and see how it goes first.
I'll be commuting, too. I live on the Pearland side of Friendswood. If our clinicals are in the same place, maybe we could commute if you like.
Can't wait to meet everyone!
Best wishes,
Deb.
hopefulBacc2010, thank you. I might call ***** or ****** tomorrow to follow up on my acceptance packet so I have enough time for medical exam and other things. How many pages were in the packet? What were they for? If we can have clinical togethers, we can carpool and we can also do group study. I can help you with health assessment, pharmacology, adult 1, 2, 3 since I already took them.
Hey! Congrats to all the people with interviews! Is anyone going too have to drive from the alvin/rosharon/lake jackson area??
IF I get in...I will have to drive about 50 miles one way so if anyone is interested in car pooling from those areas let me know!
I hope they let us know SOON becuase some of us will have to get student loans and will need time to figure that out!
Smith0806, I am interested in carpool. I live in Pearland. We can quiz each other while driving
Hey guys, someone in the BSN program now and I asked her how was the program so far and was it disorganized. She told me no and that she loves it, that when she finish she is going to do her masters there. She also told me that the hardest course is pedi. But it is differently do able and she has kids and maintaining a A average. WOW!! She did say she was sleep deprived though.
jazzynurse2b, do you still have contact with someone in BSN? can she/he tells us about nursing research? Do we have to turn papers every week?
Well I hear the 1st semester is pretty year,ur easiest yr,and the second semester ok.I always hear your hardest semester is ur 3rd.I usually like asking ppl who are alumnis so I can see how each semester is layed out.
Hi mau00, have you heard anything about Community Health or Evidence Based Practice?
Hi, I also got my acceptant letter today, ie. Monday, to the BACC2 program. Whew....I would deeply appreciate it if any nursing student from UTMB BACC2 class that started in the Spring 2009 could be our mentor by giving us more insights and advices about:
1. what is a typical studying day, and the whole semester,
2. how is the clinical integrated into a very heavy workload at school,
3. especially, how many of us in a BACC2 class could make it to the final graduation day, (do we have some failed out of the program, some withdrew, some quitted...like I heard...which is not scarry but big concerns)
4. what is an average grade one could earn, I honestly mean that if it is at all possible for us BACC2 nursing student to earn an A in such a heavy work load of 20 credit hours per semester.
Thank you.
Andan, were you able to get some answers to your questions because I have the same questions as you have.
