Hey! I wanted to make this post because I didn't see a thread for those who are applying to UTMB Galveston Fall 2018. I know application hasn't open yet, but I just took my teas score. I have no idea if it is good enough for UTMB standards. I currently have 40 hours, but by the end of this semester I will have around 53 credit hours. I have no idea how I should even start my personal statement. Would you guys be willing to share your stats? Any questions or comments please feel free to post! :)

Me too, my gpa isn't the greatest either. I made an 85 on my teas with a 91 in science so hopefully that helps!
Hopefully this eases y'alls worries some. I was accepted into the Fall 2017 class. I'll put my stats in detail below.
TEAS
Overall: 80
Math: 96.9
Reading: 80.9
Science: 72.3
English: 70.8
Btw, I took it twice.
Overall GPA: 3.94
Science GPA: 4.0
Army Veteran; Combat Medic; EMT

This class though, they're the best of the best students out there. Top notch candidates! (That does not include myself) LOL
For the denials, they come out in waves just like the interviews do. The professors & ppl in charge of selecting the students meet every other week (if I'm remembering correctly) to review applications. Now, they will send out denial letters up front to the applicants that don't meet the requirements. Mind you, Fall semesters have the highest requirements.
For all the semesters, if your GPA is at or below 3.0, you probably won't get in. If you make less than a 70% in any of the sections of the TEAS, you probably won't get in either. For fall semesters specifically, I was told any GPA below 3.5 will probably not make the cut off and TEAS scores at or below 80 won't either. You want an 85 or better to be competitive. BUT, as you can see from my stats, there are exceptions! That's what I love about UTMB. They look at the individual all together, not just the stats. I know for certain at UTHSC, they only look at the GPAs and the HESI/TEAS scores. I can't remember which test they wanted. That was also mentioned at their open house, so it's not a secret by any means. I probably wouldn't have gotten accepted myself if they had only looked at my numbers.
I will also say that my GPA is not great and neither my TEAS scores. But, I am an LVN of 10 years with A LOT of experience and I put my heart on that personal statement. I am also a believer of God's great power and will. I believe that if it's mean't for me to be at UTMB, then that is exactly where he will put me, despite scores or anything else. If not, then I will know He has somewhere else in mind. He has brought me this far and He will continue taking me farther than I even know. Don't fret folks! Today is a great day:happy:
TEAS: 75 overall (I know that sucks but i didn't have time to retake it before the deadline)
I'm thinking my TEAS score may bring my chances way down even though my gpa is good. I haven't received any emails yet and MyStar has not changed either. Could y'all tell me what email address these emails are being sent by? I want to make sure I don't miss it since I get a lot of junk email on my personal one!! Thanks
