  1. Alright here is the link to join on FB. https://www.facebook.com/groups/786387835306542/
  2. Do y’all want to start a FB? This is Missy btw. I realized I signed in via Google last time instead of with the account I already had ??‍♀️.
  3. I live about an 1 1/2 hrs. away as well and will be commuting. There are actually lots of us that will be commuting with hour + drives. From what I can tell, you will go to class about 2 days a week and lab another day. Then there is clinical, but that can be anywhere. So you're looking at 3-4 class/lab/clinical days initially. The morning classes start at 9. The great thing is that in the morning everyone is going off the island, so you won't encounter too much traffic going in. I'm taking the beltway to ease the drive. It will be about $160 a month but if it will make my drive better, I don't care, lol.
  4. Yep, you are now waiting for interview invites. I would say it is about a month between app closing and the first interview invites. Then the next round is usually a month from the first. Of course this could be earlier or later, but that seems to be the timeline. The wait is crazy! Be prepared to check your mystar and email constantly, lol. Even when your not trying to you will, lol. Remember not to get discouraged if you get a denial. There are other schools and don't be afraid to ask what you can do to be a better applicant. Good luck and God bless you on your journey.
  5. Thanks, just trying to pass on any helpful info I can.
  6. From those I have talked to, say the same. The commute isn't that bad and my friend that moved there for the program said it was unnecessary because you do the clinical everywhere anyway. So you will go back and forth off the island anyway. Yes, it makes getting to class more convenient and fast, but it doesn't seem to be too difficult. You just have to do whats best for you. I will be commuting because of my family and stay over sometimes.
  7. From what I remember my overall/pre-req GPA is 3.4, science is 3.3. TEAS 78% overall(scored a 72 on science). So you can see I am VERY average grade wise. BUT, I have 11 years LVN experience in various settings and I made sure they knew that I could handle the program. I put my heart and life into my personal statement as well, which I think is a big factor. This is one thing I love about UTMB, they look at you as a person, not just grades. Of course this doesn't mean that you are not a good candidate as well. You may very well get called off the waitlist and if not, summer may be your time. Don't lose hope!
  8. Oh I'm sorry. Keep trying and definitely apply to other schools. This was my second time applying with UTMB and I have been waitlisted with other schools. So it WILL happen! I trust God will get you where you need to be.
  9. Yay! Congrats guys!! Looking forward to meeting you!
  10. I took the first interview available for July, so this is likely the beginning of many acceptances to come in the next few days. Praying for yall.
  11. I noticed around 9:30. And yes, I just got the email too.
  12. Still nothing for yall? It will come guys!
  13. I GOT IN!!!! Check your portals!!! This is amazing!!
  14. Try an urgent care/convenient care place. They usually will do a full physical and order the labs for you.
