UTMB Fall 2017

Hi everyone!

I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!

No! Apparently they send out interview invitations in waves, that go on throughout March. There's still plenty of time

It's random. I applied a few days before the deadline and I'm in the first wave. But, fyi.....I have some friends in class that received direct admission for the fall and they are receiving them at random. It was after I received my emails about the interview. They were freaking out when we were talking about interviews because they hadn't heard anything yet and their stats were better than mine. I'm sure more acceptance letters will be coming.

I'm checking my email 10 billion times a day. I should qualify for the honors program but I had to retake my TEAS after the deadline. Done with permission but I wonder if that will delay them looking at my application. Do they look at them in order of received or stats or random?

My friend last year had a 4.0 and was granted admission pretty soon after she applied, no interview.

Do they email you to your private email, or do you have to check MyStar portal? Or like your UTMB email? Lol.

Whatever email you used to set up/utilize NursingCAS is the one they send it to! I signed up with my personal email and that's what everything has been going to!

Private email, the same email you put on your application.

Do they email you to your private email, or do you have to check MyStar portal? Or like your UTMB email? Lol.

I was a little nervous about how the interviewing is being done because I had to submit my TEAS scores late (with approval from the school) and they said not to worry that they are just now starting the process of reviewing applications and it takes a good while to get through it all. Made me feel a bit better.

I don't think they start until tomorrow, but from what I've heard they're very relaxed! And in the email they explained where to go

I didn't get an email when I scheduled mine.

"Please check in at the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs, Room 2.208 in the SHP/SON Building. Please take the elevator to the 2nd floor, turn left and right at the hallway. We are located in the corner suite on the left." This is what was on my email!

Has anyone had their interview yet? What was it like and where are we supposed to go on campus?

I had my interview yesterday and it was pretty laid back! The questions asked were really simple, no trick questions. They are just really trying to get to know you and see how you handle different situations and how you work as a student. You will receive a email from the office of admissions telling you where to park and where in the building you must go.
