@WBAN No problem! And unfortunately that wasn't me, I go to school in the Dallas area right now and am planning on moving to wherever I get into school. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone (hopefully) as well!

Here's a link and attached pdf file showing cost of attendance for the SoN, undergraduate program for 2011-2012. Check out the Start date in Spring 2012 -- it's 1/9/12!! Also, for those with kids, Spring Break is shown as 3/5/12 to 3/9/12. I'm not sure what all the line items mean, but at least we can use this to do more detailed tuition planning!

I applied for admission to UTHSCSA SoN in the Spring 2012 semester. I'm kind of nervous because my GPA is not very high, 3.3, but I scored well on my TEAS with an 87, which leaves me with mixed feelings.

On Aug. 17 I got an email stating that they had received my TEAS scores, and that the supplemental application would follow. I am anxiously awaiting it...

Anyway...

Today in Chem II, a young lady in class said she had already received her letter of acceptance for the Spring 2012 semester at UTHSCSA. I'm confused because from reading some of the posts, it seems like we are all at the same point... waiting on the supplemental application.

How could she have already received her letter of acceptance? Is it possible some applicants did so well on the TEAS and have a high GPA, so they were accepted without having to do the supplemental application? I was going to ask her, but class let out at 8:40 pm and I was ready to get home.

For anyone keeping up with my previous post, I just called the SoN and they confirmed that no one has been accepted yet to Spring 2012.

Thanks for clearing that up. I read your post this morning but didn't get a chance to reply before work but was slightly heartbroken thinking that maybe they had done that! I feel better now.

@yoursocurious and @CristinaL: I was freaking out too when she said that, but I didn't want to call her out in the middle of class, it being our first day and all. I also asked about the supplemental application when I called and was told that they are still working on getting it together to send to us. I hate this waiting game!

Okay I just got out of my Microbiology class and some girl told me the same exact thing! That she has already been accepted to the UTHSCSA for the spring 2012. I kept up with your other posts that the school said no one has been accepted but I just don't know why someone would say that. It's really weird.....

I think I spoke with Priscilla at UTHSC and she said EVERYONE has to do the supplemental application. Since it's not ready for us, there is no way anyone has been accepted.

No I'm at NVC. I was thinking it might be the same girl but I guess not. Oh well at least we know that no ones accepted yet!

this is too weird! so, here's the last email i got....should be the same for all.....but i'm thinking that maybe they are misreading the letter and really believe, from their interpretation of the wording, that they were accepted! maybe they think the 2nd round means they were actually accepted and the supplemental app is just paperwork they need to fill out and return (including their signed acceptance letter they expect in the supp app)?

if you stretch it and are incredibly optimistic, maybe someone would interpret this email as having been accepted. the "...if you receive and accept an offer of admission" -- maybe the person thinks they got the offer and the "if" is for "if" they accept an offer of admission? i underlined the phrases that may have been misinterpreted. if this is the case, you gotta love 'em ......very positive attitudes :redpinkhe!! (even if it does give us all a heart attack! :uhoh3: )

dear applicant, this email is to inform you that we have received your teas score and you have made it to the 2nd round of the spring 2012 traditional bsn application process. please continue to be patient as we are assembling the supplemental application. we will send it out to you via email as soon as it is complete.

also, at this time, there is no need to send in transcripts or update courses to the office of admissions & student services or nursingcas. any updates or information that we need from you will be collected if you receive and accept an offer of admission.
