Anybody applied to the fall 2010 semester? I just received an invite to take the TEAS!

well if it's any consolation, it's BURNT orange and black pants. hahaha. Would you rather wear that or alll white?! Believe me, "halloween colors" are so much better than having to wear cream colored underwear under your white uniform!

Hey guys! I just received my acceptance this past weekend and I am so excited!! :)

And oh no.. Burnt orange?? I'm an Aggie, so that might take a little getting used to haha!!

Congrats to everyone who was excepted! I look forward to meeting all of you in August!

I applied to for the accelerated program and got in. Start date is May 20 for orientation.

Does anyone know anything about the accelerated program. It seems to be very different from the generic.

Or is anyone else going to start in the accerlerated program in May?

I'm about to finish my first semester and they just totally redid the whole curriculum. not to scare you, but the accelerated is going to be very tough from what we have been told. just be prepared to devote a lot of time and practice, especially what you learn in the simulation lab. since they were redoing the program, people that got accepted for the accelerated program for our class got screwed and did't even get to do it. if you have any questions I'd be more than happy to help, only thing is, everything is gonna be different as far as structure from now on, content should still be the same though. Some of the things that I've learned so far...nursing shoes are overpriced and overrated. I ended up switching to these nike "walking" shoes that I found at academy. they are the best shoes I've ever worn and about $40. you will need to purchase other scrubs to wear to your labs, the uniform is only worn on the day you have your clinical rotation, shoes need to be black by the way. once you find out your size I would recommend buying online. you can find them super cheap that way. sign up EARLY for a parking permit because taking the shuttle SUCKS! it only comes like every 30 min. and when the bus drivers have breaks it's like an hr before the next one comes, so get familiar with walking from the school to lot 17. I haven't had a real tough time with any of the classes except pharmacology. that class, or whatever they're gonna be calling it now really takes some time. the teachers are all very helpful and accomodating, and overall it's been a very good experience so far. good luck to everyone! it's gonna be a little tough, but just remember it will be totally worth it in the end!

The old accelerated program was stopped because of significant dissatisfaction. You'll be the first to experience the new curriculum. Actually, I wasn't aware that they were going forward with a new program. A lot of incoming students this semester were ****** when they found out that the accelerated program was cancelled at the last minute.

On a side note, all new incoming freshman will also be getting new curriculum. Dunno if anyone has mentioned that.

hey guys, i got in to the traditional program for fall and i was wondering if anybody was looking for a room mate to get an apt with? looking for another female, im 20 so hopefully someone around the same age. no smoking, no pets.

mursehopeful, fadedflower79, and zx7chelle – i too am applying to the 2010 necp (fedex’d my pkg to b just wed) as well as aecp. figured it couldn’t hurt to double my chances. i’ll be attending university of missouri-st louis (umsl). i just wanted to introduce myself as thus far you are the first people i’ve come across applying to necp so i really haven’t had anyone to commiserate w/ and would love if that’s ok w/ all of you to join your circle. fadedflower and mursehopeful i wish you safe both a safe return from your deployments

When we received our acceptance letters it said that regular registration would start on May 1st and that they would be sending out more information regarding registration. I have yet to receive anything and I am not sure what to do. Has anyone else received any information regarding what we should register for come MAy 1? Thanks

I received an e-mail about registration.

It basically linked me to Orientation & Registration Schedule

and told me I had to self register on the web once all my holds were cleared.
