Hello everyone:D
I have seen various threads for previous applicants that applied to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I was not able to find a thread for UTHSC Fall 2016 applicants so I decided to start one. If a thread already exists, I am sorry. I will also be applying to TWU-Houston and UTMB. I know the process is stressful, so I will try to make it easier. I will be attending the May 22 info session at UT and the May 28 one at TWU. I will be sure to update any information discussed in the sessions for those who are not able to attend. If there are any previous applicants, or current and previous students, I would appreciate if you could join and share your experience in the school as well as your application process.
I look forward to talking to everyone who is going through this nursing journey.:)
Ahh I kinda forgot about it so far but now it's making me nervous all over again and everyone's posting their wonderful stats! Lol but does anyone know if we can check our status online? I know that they kinda deleted our accounts once we submitted which I'm still trying to figure out the point of that:no:
So, I had to call again to ease my nerves lol. They said everyone "should" receives a transcript evaluation. They are mailed out weekly, and everyone "should" receive once eventually. Evaluations aren't an insight to whether you're accepted/denied.
Now, back to sitting on pins and needles lol.
Hi, I also applied for the Fall. Does anyone know if they will automatically deny you if you scored lower than a 75 on one portion of HESI? I did really well on every section but A&P (made a 65), making my overall an 88% with a 960 in CT. I'm currently taking A&P II so I'm learning most of what I missed on the exam. Too late I just wish I knew if that alone would disqualify me so I can start preparing Spring '17 apps! Good luck to you all!

On the UTHealth website, it states that a 75-80% is recommended. It technicallydoesn't state that it is required, so I don't think they would automatically deny you for that. However, there is a chance that it is poor word choice on their part. But if that were the case, it should have been changed by now.
Just my opinion. Don't give up hope!
Hey guys, I just wanted to mention and let you all know that those "fall admissions" were actually a mistake and were actually admitted for the summer (they are part of the summer fb group). It happened to more than one student and when they spoke with someone from admissions it was clarified that it was a mistake/typo and that they were admitted for the summer session. These are people that applied for both Fall and summer so yeah... I figured it would ease some of you to know that fall acceptances haven't gone out yet.

Still no transcript eval here either. From past threads it seems like they are sent out randomly; some people who get admitted never receive them, while others do, and some people who get denied receive them, while others don't. I had sent admissions an email about the evals last week and the response I got was that the Registrar's Office completes the evaluations and sends them to the SON. Then the SON can, as a courtesy, send you a copy if they so choose, at their discretion. If that's true, whether or not you receive one may just depend on whose desk your application resides; some folks may send them out to applicants, others may not. Although, who knows, that could be incorrect info too... I don't understand why it has to be so complicated.
