Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

@pappa22v Thanks for the help! Now I don't have to resend my transcripts correct?
@wickedstar21
You only have to send any updated transcripts. For example, I sent transcripts that had coursework completed this Fall, with final grades. I am officially done with all pre-reqs and starting J1 coursework in Spring!!! They will need my J1 course grades when they are complete. (UTA has a different system, you take the intensive J1 courses Patho and Pharm before entry to clinical/ Upper Level)
Hello everyone!
I just did something I have been wanting to do for a very LONG time...apply to nursing school!
This morning I took my HESI for the second time, in order to improve my math scores, and passed. I am elated!!!
Stats are as follows:
Reading comprehension 78%
Grammar 78%
Vocabulary & general knowledge 94%
Anatomy & Physiology 96% - 1 question missed
Math 88% improved from a previous 54%
CT 910/1000
Cumulative score 86.80%
GPA 3.66
Science GPA 3.67 (A&P I, A&P II, Microbiology).
I feel the reading and grammar are from mental exhaustion, as those were my last sections to take.
Immediately after getting home I applied through the UTH SON website, sent my transcripts from my college, and from the Prometric testing center (since I took the HESI under another school code, I had to send the transcript secondary to UT).
Hoping everyone the best with their applications. The deadline for Summer 2017 is January 15th guys! Good luck!
Also, does anyone know how long I should wait before contacting to school to ensure all materials were received?
You will get a login to myUTH once they process your application. (Expect holiday related delays). Once you login you can track materials required and received, though it may take some time to appear on your myUTH portal because of the current influx of documentation for Summer applications.

Thank you very much!
I'm really bummed though on my reading and grammar scores, because I feel it could hurt my chances. When I took the HESI initially my reading comprehension was 90 percent.
Due to financials I was not able to afford the HESI re-testing until now, thus my late application.
Unrelated to UTH; I am studying for the TEAS VI now for UTMB (my test is schedule in January).
I am also taking the teas in January ! For UTMB. I will be applying to UT and UTMB this time around !! What are you using ? I am hoping the HESI helped me a bit.... just have to study the physics and chemistry portion !!
Hey Mermaid,
I bought the ATI TEAS VI study guide from the ATI website (also where I scheduled my TEAS through).
When I purchased the study guide, I also bought the 2 online practice tests.
I took part A to determine what materials were going to be covered in the biology section. Math and English Language Usage seemed very similar to the HESI.
The biology section had A&P, some Chemistry, and some general biology (genomes, dna, rna, etc).
Also, just as a heads up I suggest scheduling your TEAS ASAP. When I scheduled mine, the closest date in the Houston area was January 10th. Since I live outside of Houston, I scheduled mine in Wharton since it had the same availability.
