UTHSC Summer 2017

Published

Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

Specializes in Radiation Oncology.

Anyone else taking their last few classes this coming Spring?

I am going to be taking Chemistry, Statistics, and Philosophy: Intro to Ethics. It's very exciting to be nearly complete with all my pre-nursing classes!

Nope, taking my last classes now, though I am just about finished. Only one term paper and a couple more exams to go. Also, I started my first nursing class today, so that's been exciting. Next semester I only have 3 nursing classes.

Oh, how are you taking pre-reqs and nursing classes together?

UTA, they require an additional 4 prerequisites which are regular nursing classes in most programs (Intro to Nursing, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and an elective)

Oh, UT Arlington. Yes, I looked into their program before too.

Are you doing the online BSN or going to Arlington for the lectures once the nursing portion begins?

At first I thought you were talking about UT Houston because the thread name, that's why I asked how you're taking them.

No I would stay in the online program and complete clinicals here in Houston. However, two of the classes are part of J1 at UTHSC and they will most likely transfer.

It doesn't matter what semester your last semester clinicals fall into. You have to have to same amount of clinical hours as any other student to graduate.
