Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
I have a problem, which Government courses did you guys take. I took GOVT 2305 and 2306 from LONESTAR and Carrozza Christina wrote saying that it won't transfer. She said the government classes has to include American constitution and Texas constitution. I have searched and can not see another Government class.

I had this exact same problem. I took American government in California and because in the description it said the word California once it was not accepted. Which sucks because I hate government and it took a lot for me to get that A lol I signed up for American government hcc next month government 2305. This should be transferable because I have their printed out transfer guide. It states 2305 is their equivalent for lone star and hcc..... there must be a mistake for you. Now I'm scared because I paid 900$ out of state money for that 2305 class.
Multiple denials, suck. I've just been denied for the second time from here and once before from another school. It's a feeling like grieving of some sort, but keep on pushing. Apply again and, this next time you'll get in! We both will. Don't give up:up:.
Denied here too! For the THIRD time!!I don't even know how to feel anymore
I'm a bit confused about the titers and immunization requirements as well. If we have a positive titer for Varicella but never received the Varicella series vaccine, does that mean we have to get it even though the positive titer shows immunity? According to the SON requirements, it says either have the two-dose series or a physician-validated history of the disease. I have had chicken pox before but it's wasn't validated by a physician at that time so I'm a bit confused. Also does the MMR (two doses series) vaccine count for the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella vaccine for that as it doesn't mention MMR but it does mention it in the UT Health school requirements? Sorry for all the questions! I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right and it's a bit confusing XD

Hey, so I would just get titers done for everything and then get a booster shot for anything you're showing low immunity to. That's how I'm doing it because I don't have my old shot records, and you need titers for several of the requirements anyway.
MMR stands for Measles (rubeola), Mumps, & Rubella. I got titers for all of these and no longer have immunity to mumps, so I have to get the vaccination again. I'll provide titer lab results and then documentation of getting the booster as well.
You'll see when entering your information in e*value, you have the option of selecting whether you're uploading titer OR vaccination documentation. So if you're still immune to varicella, titer results will show that, and you'll be fine.
Hope this helps!
Did you send her the course description of the class? They literally begin with "the origin and development of the TX Constitution" (For 2305, also same description except that for U.S. Constitution) Those are also the courses I'm taking at Lonestar, and the ones on the pre-reqs transfer guide. There aren't any specifics on Constitutions. Although, my acceptance email included pre-reqs that I still have to complete and also highlighted the inclusion of these Constitutions...?? Are they supposed to be in the class name??
Thank you Mermaid. I honestly hope its just a mistake. I can not lose this admission for anything.I had this exact same problem. I had a similar problem with my history course and they were able to accept my credit after I emailed them. Email [email protected], [email protected] to dispute your credit! For Lone Star, you can reference the transfer guide link that clearly states that GOVT 2305 and 2306 count towards your government credit. They might be able to help you. When I emailed them, I scanned in my transcript highlighting the Government courses I took so they could reference it. They were very nice and quick to fix it!
