Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

Finally took my HESI today, super last minute but couldn't be avoided...

Reading 94%

Grammar 98%

Vocab 96%

Anatomy 92%

Math 100%

Cumulative 96%

Im just hoping they get sent on time. The website says some things about deadlines falling in the middle of the month, so they retrieve scores the day after... i guess ill find out!

These are great scores. As far as arrival time, mine too 7 days, Wednesday last week to Wednesday this week. I took my HESI under Lone Star's school code and had them sent via email. Emailed UTHSC today to verify they received them and my transcripts and have yet to hear anything back.

Im in the same boat. I took it yesterday so I'm also hoping it'll make it in time. I sent an email this afternoon to the general admissions email address but haven't heard back yet. I'll call tomorrow afternoon when my plane lands

Yeah, I emailed them a week ago with questions and still no response, I wonder if they stop checking that when it gets closer to deadlines. Ill also be calling today after I get off work. Let me know if they tell you anything new! :)

Nothing like last minute, but my HESI was removed from my To Do List overnight. Now the waiting game for all of us.

I called and left a message about 15 minutes ago for a call back. Also sent an email yesterday, and re-sent it today to a different email address.

This must be what it feels like to be a clingy, nagging girlfriend.

I wouldn't even bother. I applied last cycle and it was the same thing. Only when you are accepted they answer your emails and phone calls (actual words from a friend who was accepted 2016 fall) I guess they get a secret passcode or something lol!

FYI - I attended an online information session and they said we should have notification by February-March.

I just think it's silly how they don't even take a personal statement/volunteer experience/anything like that. UTHSC is strictly numbers, nothing else. But theoretically that means that they'll get back to us sooner than April, right? Seeing as they don't have to read anything except GPAs and HESI scores lol. I got into UTMB for Summer 2017 and have paid the deposit, but I'm waiting to hear back from here before I make a final decision, so it would be nice to know ASAP.

I took the HESI on Wednesday and it's off my to do list today. However it still says I'm missing a transcript.

I saw in the Summer 2016 thread that they started getting notifications at the beginning of February!

Are you currently enrolled in, or still missing prerequisites? If so, it will continue to say that. That is the case for me. That has been mentioned quite a bit on this site and was confirmed to me by an admissions adviser on the phone. On another note, I did get an email reply from admissions as well. I emailed them asking for confirmation that they received my transcripts and HESI scores and to clarify about the process of sending updated transcripts, as I have classes completed that will increase my GPA over the course of the application period. The email I got back was pointless. It basically said "We are receiving a lot of inquiries. Be patient. Check your "To Do List." Very frustrating.

I saw that as well, but as we all know, the methods to UTHSC's admissions process are as clear as mud. Even now that they have allegedly changed the admissions review process, as mentioned in an earlier post in this thread. With any luck though, that February timeframe still remains true.
