UTHSC SON Accepted into accelerated

Hello-

If you have been accepted into the UT Health Science Center School of Nursing Accelerated program and have questions/comments about the whole process-post here! We can all get through these hoops together:yeah:

does anyones utlink say Nursing School student affairs under holds?? mine for some reason just recently started saying that.

Mine has two holds, criminal background check and registrar's. I checked with SON today, and the criminal background check is a double hold for background check and drug screen. Should clear soon. The other is because I haven't finished all pre-reqs and they don't have a final transcript for spring semester. This will clear as soon as they receive the final transcript and we can register late, so again, no worries. Maybe your holds are because of these factors?

If it doesn't work, I went to the SON website, clicked current students, clicked Schedule of Classes, then chose nursing, summer, and scroll down. Hopefully the schedule is correct! The office said it should be.

August--good question, I was wondering the same thing. I think we should get all that information in the packet that should be in the mail soon...If not, we should all collaborate so atleast we all wont look out of place!

Elliebell - We DID get the breaks that were listed on the calendar (though some had to do clinicals the week of Thanksgiving and def. Spring Break). Good luck to everyone!!!

I agree with RNHouston that if you're around the Conroe/Woodlands area, the bus is more trouble/time than it's worth. Carpooling is the way to go!

Oh, and RNHouston, shouldn't you be reading Pedi or something?! :lol2:

Is it just me or do you guys still have hold on your criminal background checks.Has anybody received teh second packet in the mail.

I just received another packet in the mail with a lot of the same stuff as the original acceptance package....weird?

I haven't gotten anything else yet--did the new packet have any additional information for registration/orientation? My registration date is this tuesday so I guess I'm just supposed to register for the courses on the degree plan? I haven't gotten any information other than that. Is anyone else registering soon/this week?

are we supposed to register for classes and then bring this degree plan sheet to orientation and just have an advisor sign it then?
